I am in my low 20s and I was working at a low-income job. I was referred to her through a friend in the criminal defense business. I had called around to other lawyers and law offices and they were condescending and only made me more nervous about the situation I was in. Melissa was the exact opposite. I believe her first words were, "Everything is going to be okay, don't worry." She was extremely thorough and I actually felt safer knowing she was on my side. She communicated everything to me in terms I could understand and kept me up to date and in control of my case. If at any point something would change (in my case or in her working situation) I would receive a phone call asking my thoughts about an issue before she would act. I'm not sure how any of you would feel about this, but I LOVED it. Not only did she have more experience than she had told me, she used all of it to benefit me the most. My case ended exactly as I chose for it to, and quickly, even though Melissa had assured me multiple times that she was willing to go the distance for me. Things you need to know: Melissa is hardworking and consistently did so for me. I was treated with respect. She was willing to work as hard as needed to make sure I was comfortable in my sentence. She was very relatable. On my second DUI I chose to end the court sessions early and my sentence was as follows: All the normal classes that are required for a DUI, a $500 fine, 40 hours community service, and probation (2 years..I chose two years instead of one) that would become nonreporting when I had finished all of the other requirements.

Well prepared and very thorough, If you need any legal advice or someone to represent you Melissa…read moreis the person you want by your side. Helped me with some issues almost 20 years old.

Sarah White, Attorney at Law

Sarah White, Attorney at Law

I have been involved with attorneys my entire life while in my law enforcement career in south…read moreFlorida and additional career in Georgia. I have also interviewed and had meetings with several in the Canton / Alpharetta Georgia area. I can easily tell which attorneys have a line of 'BS" vs those who are honest, willing to help and offer solid advice. Without a doubt Ms Sara White is a true rare find. She and her office replied almost immediately to our requests. It was followed up with reminder emails. Once my wife and I met Ms White in person it was a good meeting taking care of some estate legal matters. Everything was well organized and the meet went flawlessly. She also took the time to look at a document that was deficient in a writing several years prior. Immediately we had her redo the important documents and set up an additional meeting. Without a doubt.. you do your homework , but do not be fooled by these high cost estate attorneys who want a crazy amount of money for the services and almost scare one into what they are selling. For us we did our homework. Some would not even discuss the fairly new 'Transfer of Death Deeds" and were they even knowledgeable about it, probably because it did not bring them thousands of dollars into the law firms business. We "highly" recommend Ms White for her honest services at a reasonable price! We assure you we have tried others but they dont come close to what she offers her clients. A breath of fresh air with our estate needs. We have already passed . on her information to our adult kids and sports partner players.

Very friendly and organized. I definitely recommend her. She did not waste any time in the meeting…read moreeither.

Jaffe Family Law - Bottom of my review and response left 8/29/24

I am so glad I read the many negative reviews before speaking with anyone at this firm, as if to do…read moreso is possible in the first place. It's now 12:40 on a Monday and I've been on hold for 15 minutes without speaking to anyone. Just endless music on hold, punctuated by an automated message saying "we will be with you as soon as possible." You've gotta wonder what kind of law firm can't afford someone to pick up the phone. Unless, that is, they deliberately avoid direct communication, which seems to be their "modus operandi" after having read the many negative reviews about their duplicity and dishonesty. You can't even leave a voice mail. Better to find out early than too late. You have been advised. [EDIT] As if to prove my point, the owner was quick to defend his "honor" but slow to answer the phone. While we're entitled to our own opinions, we're not entitled to our own facts. His reply is actually more incriminating than my review: "We never represented this person and we have a reception service that never puts anyone on hold ever - we have 25 5 star reviews hidden on yelp and 500 plus reviews over 25 years on JaffeFamilyLaw.com" Well, of course he never represented me. The many, many negative reviews speak for themselves. Why would anyone retain a law firm like this? That aside, consider the inanity of his assertion, "we have 25 5 star reviews hidden on yelp and 500 plus reviews over 25 years on JaffeFamilyLaw.com" It simply beggars belief that one would (or could) "hide" purported "5 star reviews." IOW, who are you gonna believe - me or your own lyin' eyes? As of this writing, there is exactly one (count 'em) 5 star review on Yelp for this firm. Additionally, what shall we make of his assertion "500 plus reviews over 25 years on JaffeFamilyLaw.com"? Every one of them is anonymous and in ALL CAPS. (Eerie coincidence?) Further, 500 reviews over 25 years is only 20 per year, good bad or otherwise. Not much of a batting average no matter how you slice it. Lastly, as for "we have a reception service that never puts anyone on hold ever," one of us is clearly lying. I'll leave it up to you to determine who's telling the truth. To paraphrase Shakespeare, "The gentleman doth protest too much, methinks."

Jaffe has been my representation for my original divorce process in 2023 (which we ended through…read moretherapy) and my newer divorce process (2025) which we are ending with a postnup agreement. I will agree, a large portion of the communication is email, but that worked for me. When I requested a call, Ryan would schedule one and we would talk it out. I don't need my hand held daily through the process by my attorney (that is what therapist are for!). I need an attorney who will stand for me, my requests, and balance out what is reasonable. Ryan and the team did a good job with my many concerns. As a client, I feel it is best to be an active member of the team - stay on top of them, ask questions, etc This is 'your process' not theirs, so manage your expectation. I volunteered to run documents to the courts, get copies from the courts, communicate with document servers, etc - so I knew the entire process. I requested to proof read and review all documents before being shared with opposing counsel or the courts - this is vital, so you know where you are in the process. I made sure the team knew what I wanted to see in Discovery and I drafted my own postnup agreement with the terms I expected/requested. This is what made it work for me - if you know what your expectation is, then manage it to get what you want. Don't just sit back and worry over not hearing updates, or think they will know what you want. Tell them exactly what you expect and manage the result. I did have an issue with a delay in the beginning over serving of documents to my spouse, in my opinion it was a Jaffe error and I notified them of my conversations with the document server, what my expectation was, how I felt the delay was on their side, and what I expected to see moving forward. Ryan was quick to call me, listen to my concerns, and workout a solution. This was a small hiccup in the overall process, but Ryan was quick to 'own it' and correct it with his team.
