Stopped by Christmas pop up market, free admission and the first 25 guests got free $10 voucher to use in the market. It was very pleasant and cool event. Mostly they were jewelry and soap/candle shops. What unique this time, they have a leather shop and it was dog friendly event. Pet dog could walking around and that was so cute. This building is so gorgeous. High ceiling makes me feel pleasant even in crowded event. read more

I have passed by this prominent, very brown, very stately building on Main at 15th SO many times. It takes up nearly a city block and is 3 stories high, and has a very imposing clock tower, too! My kid had her high school prom here, and there are often various community events held here, as well as private parties, receptions and weddings. Today I finally got the chance to visit the building, though, as there was a weekend-long artisan fair held here. What a lovely venue! Outside, by the entrance, there is a plaque on the facade declaring this building as a "Heritage Building" (designated as such in 1974). The actual building was built in 1915 and was first used as a post office. For those who care about architectural and design styles, the building is classified as being done in the Beaux Arts Classicism style, with a lot of ornamentation on the sculptured columns and facade's stone. There are many sculpted faces and sandstone festoons visible on the first and second story exterior. Inside, the first floor used to be a grand ballroom, and it was recently re-done (in 2015), so now there is a terrazzo floor, and where once was a huge trompe l'oeil mural is now a blank wall (bummer). There still are beautiful chandeliers and an ethereal ceiling that's reminiscent of calming green-blue sea glass. Today at the artisan fair, there were tables lined up and creating aisles in the ballroom, so the room looked somewhat small. I'd imagine the venue appearing much larger and spatially impressive without all the tables. I was impressed by this building. It was lovely inside and out. The location on Main Street is awesome, too, with tons of parking on Main and the side streets, and so many fun shops, coffee houses and restaurants nearby. read more

Heritage Hall - What a stately entrance, on Main Street, corner 15th. - Venues & Event Spaces Near Me - Vancouver, British Columbia

Neat little venue space in the middle of the city. Always thought it was an office building until now. Parking is available along the side streets in the evenings. The place is pretty classy, with tall columns, and nice panelled walls. With that said, however, the columns unfortunately get in the way of quite a few sight lines, which is very unfortunate if your event has a stage at the edge of the room. Also, the main doors open directly outside, which means that every time someone opens them, a draft fills the room. Acoustics are decent inside, which make for a good concert space, if one doesn't mind a pillar or two in the way. Be strategic where you sit. read more

One of the great jewels of the City. My wife and I had the pleasure of using Heritage Hall for our wedding ceremony and reception in Sept, 2010 and have to say we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The location is near to quite a few hotels for out of town guests and is central to pretty much everything you need on Main St (great food, shopping, etc). Working with Marian and the admin staff was a breeze and we were able to get everything booked rather quickly. From all the places we looked around the city this was by far the best bang for your buck and includes the rental and setup/take down of all tables and chairs. Only side note is that they have a year/year-and-a-half wait for weekends so I'd recommend booking the venue before you make any other plans. Amazing overall experience and I'd highly recommend Heritage Hall for weddings/shows/events. Can't go wrong at all. read more

This is a beautiful, old building with ample space for community events, such as craft shows -- which is what brought me in. It was big enough to have three long aisles of booths with all sorts of interesting handmade jewellery, scarves, purses, clothing, candles, pottery and other decorative nic nacs. Located at the corner of 15th and Main, it's a landmark building and the main floor is available to rent for your special occasion. The upper floors are rented out to social service agencies. The ballroom here would be a swank location for an evening gala or a wedding. They have a good list of the facilities on their website. read more

It would be odd to say anything bad about this venue,.. it just is and the neighbourhood is better for it. So often affordable community halls are run-down, windowless buildings on a side street. This place is quite opposite and one of the few notable buildings in Vancouver. As opposed to being associated with one business, Heritage Hall is one place that when i walk, bike, or drive by I look over and think "I wonder what is going on today?". It has big windows so the events in there are "public" and retain a sort of community enhancing vibe. I especially like when people have weddings in there, it is as if they are letting Main st. enjoy part of the fun. It is the hub of this area, hands down and is what keeps the foot traffic plentiful and alive. In different times of the year it serves different purposes: mostly craft fairs in November, Xmas parties in December, and weddings in the summer months, DJ events year round. We considered it for our wedding and I recall thinking the pricing was reasonable. read more

Was just at a wedding reception yesterday at Heritage Hall. It is affordable, beautiful and more importantly, it comes with a kitchen! You can dress it up to look modern or leverage its old-fashion retro vibe and go for elegance. Top notch place with great ambiance and I love that the decor lends itself to whatever you want your event to be - elegant, modern, chic, retro, old-fashion, etc. read more

Beautiful venue. My best friend had her wedding ceremony & reception here. Great venue very vintage. Not too big they had about 155 guest and it seemed perfect. Only negative was parking, was not the easiest to find due to its location and bathrooms are in the basement trust me when you're wearing a gown and high heels its not fun. But the building is beautiful I would highly recommend this venue. read more

Had our wedding here, beautiful hall all our guests had an amasing time as did we. Only thing that is the downfall of this hall is the women who is in charge of the renting, our experience during our wedding planing in general was helpful and our vendors were excited for us however the women at heritage hall has a right chip on her shoulder, very abrasive and rude, god forbid you need to ask her a question as simple as "what time shall we come in and give you our money"...very rude she added un wanted stress to our planning the week and day of our wedding due to her attitude. They need a helpful and happy person running that place who can help and enjoy the time with you not the other way around. Very upsetting. read more

I just want to give a big shout out to Jan. I recently organized an event at Heritage Hall and she was incredibly organized and helpful. Despite several mistakes on our part she remained calm and definitely went above and beyond to help us. Thanks Heritage Hall & Jan! read more

Man, I fucking love Heritage Hall. I've been going there for comic book and toy shows, weddings and assorted other functions since I moved to Van and I always have a good time. Maybe it's the old school feel lacking in so many Vancouver buildings or maybe it's the fact that there's a cold beer and wine across the way but I inevitably leave this spot half cut and totally happy. Of course your mileage will vary depending on what you're going for, but I have so many pleasant memories tied up in the place that I'd probably enjoy chilling there for just about any reason. Oh and if you go you need to check out the men's bathroom, the urinals have this weird diagonal slant that makes you make eye contact with the dude next to you. I'd like to say with sexy results, but more often it's just awkward and therefore hilarious. read more

I recently hosted an event at Heritage Hall, which was our 5th year running. The venue is great. It has classic features, and high ceilings, chandeliers and beautiful floors. The staff were great to work with. Professional, and flexible to a last minute change on my part that was unavoidable. A perfect alternative to an expensive hotel ballroom, the Heritage Hall will not disappoint. read more

A super venue with a perfect location. The inside has a old fashioned, quaint with a retro vibe from the crown molding and sculpted beams. Huge windows give the main hall ample amounts of natural light too. Heritage Hall has been used for such a variety of events but I mostly think of all the craft shows that are held there. The only draw back is that it can be tricky to book because it is so popular. read more

Great space for weddings and other events! Very professional and friendly!

fantastic venue...right in the heart of bustling main st... ive been here twice for 2 different events... one a breast cancer fundraiser, afternoon tea. with the rustic decor and feel of the building, i found it very suiting. the other was just recently for booze how tooz event...showing of how to make your own beer. there was a slide video show, a live dj (fantastic music might i add) and of course beer! there was a great deal of space so me and my friends hit up the dance floor! what fun! its great how its so out in the open and non pretentious so that people walking down the streets feel they can wander in as they please. read more

I've been to several events here including my brother's wedding. It's a beautiful venue and it suits many types of moments. I love the colours and the ceiling, the exterior and the big kitchen in the back. The floor is perfect for dancing too! read more

I've come here off and on over the years for the past 10+ years for comic cons and craft fairs, therefore, have utilized (or rather visited) one of the main rooms. I've never personally booked a room here for an event, just attended events, therefore, this review is a reflection of just that. This is in a good part of the city, close to the record store that I like so that I can always show off what I bought to my best friend (all my girly trinkets). I suspect that it is popular for weddings as I always walk by and there are wedding receptions etc taking place. The washrooms are always clean and there is some character to the building that makes it stand out. read more

I was at Heritage Hall for BC Cider Week. What a funky venue! I love the history and look of the building! The tall ceilings, big windows, radiator hearing... it's all so charming! Parking wasn't the easiest but so is Vancouver, at least I didn't have to pay. The only downside was that it was raining and the damp people really made the room hot and muggy. I swear u could see a cloud forming at one point. Even with the doors open there was no airflow. I guess that speaks to the wood and age, and air tightness. Outside of that though the hall is a really great space read more

We were lucky enough to get a date at Heritage Hall this August for our wedding. Marian is an uber organized superwoman! She has obviously done this before! had all the answers to our questions regarding the venue, gave us all pertinent information, and gave us ideas on how to set-up to make our day run smooth! Heritage Hall is one of the most economical venues in Vancouver, and definitely one that gives us the most freedom... to buy our booze, find our caterer (MOV only allowed 'the Butler did it', Van Dusen had a list of caterers they dealt with... who were all very very costly). Would definitely recommend this place! read more

This is such a beautiful space! We went by to check out Salt Spring In The City and it was my first time being inside this gorgeous venue. I can't wait to return for a musical event as I look forward to hearing the acoustics in it! read more

We recently had our wedding at Heritage Hall and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The high ceilings and decor really make this affordable and central venue feel like something special. We had access to it all day and all of our dealings with the Heritage Hall staff were pleasant and smooth. The newly renovated floors looked gorgeous as well. They were so flexible about accommodating us: we weren't limited to particular caterers, and could supply the event with alcohol as long as we had all the necessary licenses. I would highly recommend this venue for any special event. read more

The hall is night but the lady in charge- Jenn is a NIGHTMARE. She was extremely unreasonable to work with and so so difficult ...we held an event here and every person had a challenge with her. I cant go into detail to remain anonymous. I was going to have my wedding here and am SO happy i didnt because working with her in charge would have made it a horrible experience. read more

My husband and I got married there October 5th, 2013. It was SPECTACULAR. All our guests were amazed at how beautiful and regal it felt. Everyone was just taken back at how stunning it was. It was by far the best wedding planning decision we had made. When I first saw it, I couldn't really picture how this empty hall with columns could be so spectacular. I thought it was lovely empty with the high ceilings and columns. However, this venue done up is just amazing. It really is quite special to have a reception here. There is so much history to this building. The manager Marian was exceptional. She was very accommodating, and was very organized with sample floor plans. The hall has round table now to use as well, so that was great! I have nothing bad to say about this venue... we feel so lucky to be able to drive by this iconic building and say we got married there. We obviously loved it, and you will too! Book early!! read more

Fantastic venue for my wedding. It was in such a convenient location and there is both free and paid parking nearby. We received so many compliments on how beautiful the building is. The pillars can create some challenges with set up but they are part of what makes the building so beautiful and Jan knows the best ways to set up the venue depending on how many guests you have. We had 125 guests and there was enough room to fit a head table, 15 guest tables, various decor tables, the buffet table, and a bar all while keeping enough space for a dance floor. The venue is one of the most affordable wedding venues in Vancouver and Jan was a pleasure to work with. She let me see the place several times with various family members before the the date of the wedding and was also extremely helpful with creating the floor plan for the evening. I can't recommend this venue enough! read more

I planned my wedding here this past summer and the venue really is beautiful but the assistant manager Jacqueline is really inflexible and rude. We agreed on a floor plan and when my husband arrived he asked one of the venue staff to move the sound board to the other side of the altar and Jacqueline LOST IT. She scolded him for changing the floor plan when it's for our wedding and it is about accommodating what works best for us on our big day. I didnt know about the minor change until I came later in the day and she seriously unloaded all of her unmerited anger and stress onto me, the day before my wedding. She accused me of not having good communication with my husband, that they are really busy and don't have time for my high demands. I said ok I sense a lot of stress but please try to be patient, it is for my wedding. You know what she said? She sharply scoffed out 'you're not the only bride.' Is that something the representative of the venue should really say to a bride to be the NEXT day? There's a lot of other problems I had with Jacqueline like she really doesn't like scheduling rehearsals, leaving boxes overnight for friends to set up for the wedding the next day and making mistakes here and there. It's extremely disappointing since the venue is so beautiful but working with the main contact of this building.... sigh. I suggest forking out the money to book a nicer venue with a reasonable and professional staff. Avoid this woman. read more
