The student body is diverse, as well, and that's a huge bonus in a world filled with pig ignorant tribalism and sheer bigotry. The old school nuns who once ran the attached convent and the school itself are, I'm sure, almost entirely gone. (Is the Oklahoma City archdiocese now in control of things? I'm genuinely curious.)

My advice is, do not send your children here. The administration is full of people that do not care…read moreabout your child's success, only about covering their own behinds, and will lie to do so. A select group of teachers routinely fail students, pick favorites, and grade unfairly. Some administrators have an elitest way of looking down on people that don't donate huge sums of money to the school. Rude and superficial. Everything is about how it "looks" and not how it actually is. Many of the students actively use drugs and somehow don't get caught. Students get away with violating dress code with skirts so short you can see everything you shouldn't. Cheating routinely takes place among students and academic dishonesty can be bought off too. Bullying is severe for some students and the school does nothing to stop it. Athletes receive special treatment and grades they did not earn. Administration says summer course work is accredited, charges $600 for a course but later does not allow credit toward graduation to be received for it. Personally looking forward to getting my children away from this place, not only for them, but for my own peace. I cannot wait to get us all as far away as possible from these snobs. More than $15,000 tuition per student per year, and only slightly less cost for "participating" Catholics. Other religions' members can attend but they pay more. Not sure if that is an excuse to charge more or if it is the cost of tolerance, but discrimination is wrong! They do not care.

I really enjoyed chatting with him, he did a great job. Two different teachers came by a couple of times to check on him and check his work. He did a great job. My color took 2 1/2 hours which is a little long. The price was good compared to my regular hair dresser. Less than 1/2 price. Overall I enjoyed myself and my hair looks good.

Don't be too drawn in by the in state tuition of around $3500 a year, because classes and fees will more than double that number. The food you can get with your meal plan is okay at best, unless you're using dining dollars to get fast food and prepackaged food. Maintenance is HORRIBLE. If you put in a maintenance request, it could take a day, to a couple of months to be fixed. My summer dorm had mold growing on the ceiling of the bathroom and it took them 2 months to fix it, and the fix only took about 5 minutes. This was when the dorms were at half capacity, at best, so i'd hate to see how long it'd take during a regular school year. The same people I lived with in summer had maintenance come into our dorm saying that it was "vacant" and that they were doing repairs, during a time they were not allowed to be working on anything. Called the RA on call, because of course housing wasn't available and he told us that we'd just have to wait until monday to get new keys (it was friday evening). Parking is ridiculous unless you're living in the quad, but the other 4 dorms all have to fight for spots which are mostly also for commuters. There's not much of a culture to this school either, so if you're looking for a campus that has a lot to offer culturally, i'd tell you to go to OU or OSU. RAs are in general amazing at their jobs, and the professors clearly know what they're doing (at least in my experience), so that makes this review slightly better.

**I will never be able to say enough great things about this school! **…read more When we enrolled our son at Cornerstone Christian Academy in 7th grade, we were looking for more than a school--we were looking for a place where he would be known, loved, challenged, and encouraged to grow in his relationship with the Lord. Three years later, we couldn't be more thankful to call this school our second home. We ADORE CCA. While I understand that every family's experience may be different, our son comes home almost every day talking about how much he loves his school, his friends, and his teachers. He has become more confident and happy. What stands out to us is how genuinely well-known he is by the people who teach and lead him. His teachers know his personality, expressions, moods, and when something seems off. I've had teachers reach out and ask if our son is okay or if there is anything they can do to help. That kind of investment in a child is difficult to put a price tag on. Our son's spiritual growth during his time at CCA has been especially meaningful. The assistant headmaster, who also teaches Bible, has had a tremendous influence on his spiritual outlook. Students are encouraged to take responsibility for their actions, grow in character, and most importantly, grow in their relationship with the Lord. He encourages them to be learners (and thinkers) and to ask questions. My son has doubts just like any other kid, or adult for that matter, but he has learned that this is a safe space to ask questions. He can freely be himself and grow the way God intends for him to grow. That is exactly what we were looking for in a Christian school. Academically, I believe in being an involved parent and doing what is best for my child. If I feel he needs additional academic supplementation in a certain subject, I am more than happy to provide that at home. At the same time, Cornerstone has given him opportunities that have been incredible for his future. He is already taking concurrent enrollment courses as a 9th grader and is on a path that will allow him to graduate with an Associate of Science degree. We are incredibly excited about that opportunity. Communication at Cornerstone is simple and accessible. Between email, GroupMe, open office doors, and phone calls, we have always felt that we can reach the people who need to hear from us. Most importantly, our son has been treated with genuine kindness, love, accountability, and respect. Regarding the negative reviews: I know Cornerstone will not be the right fit for every family. As with any school, when expectations, philosophy, or values differ, families sometimes choose to leave. That does not mean the negative account that follows tells the whole story. Some of the negative reviews represent one side of situations that are often far more complicated than a public review can convey. Everyone is entitled to their own experience and feelings, but as a parent who has been here for several years (and extremely involved), I would encourage prospective families to look beyond the reviews and come see this school and these amazing people for themselves. I have personally witnessed how much the administration sacrifices because they genuinely love the Lord, love these students, and want to build a Christ-centered community where children can grow. They carry an enormous amount, often under difficult circumstances, and yet continue to show up and pour into students and families. Cornerstone may not be for everyone--but it is absolutely for us, and we are for CCA. We are grateful that God brought us to this school and grateful for the people who serve here and for the way they have loved our son. We are proud to be part of the Cornerstone family!!

The abrupt board changes and the number of students who have left already this school year should also raise serious questions for prospective families. Before considering CCA, families should explore ALL their options and ask difficult questions. As a founding member, it pains me to say that I am now embarrassed by what the school has become. Our family ultimately decided that public school was a better environment for our son than allowing him to remain at CCA and risk believing that the behavior of the administration toward students and families that we witnessed reflects how Christians should treat others. To be clear, CCA has some truly amazing, dedicated teachers who care deeply about their students. My criticism is not directed at them. They deserve better, as do the students and families they serve. A Christian school should be held to a higher standard, not only for what it teaches, but also for how it treats people. Faith should be reflected in leadership, accountability, humility, and compassion, not merely in a school's name or mission statement. There are things that God will not defend, no matter how often His name is used to justify them.
