Have ya guessed what it is yet?
Well, if you have, you're probably wrong. I mean, you're right of course. Here's News isn't going to be busy selling dump trucks and dragon meat, but if you did guess just "news", you're wrong. There is the standard selection of chocolate bars, sweets, cigarettes, chewing gums, slightly over-priced drinks, lottery tickets, magazines and newspapers that you'd expect from a newsagent, but what there also is is a dedication to Cardiff city.
This shop has a fine selection of books and informative guides dedicated to our fair capital. From the photographic history record of the great events of the city (my Nan's in this one; stood next to Shirley Bassey) to novels published by local authors, the owners of this shop clearly love the city and have found a unique niche that stops them from blending into the mass of shops along Albany Road.
As a newsagent it does the job, but with Tesco and Boots across the road, it's a little out of its league. Still, if you love Cardiff, stop in for a spot of education. read more
