Instead of…read morechecking the car or offering help, the mechanic laughed at me, spoke down to me, and dismissed my concerns without even opening the bonnet. He made it sound like the problem was catastrophic and then told me to 'get it out' and park down the road, saying maybe he'd look at it in a few days, all while laughing. Also repeated "you cooked it". I left feeling embarrassed and disrespected. I then drove one minute away to another mechanic who inspected the car immediately and diagnosed the issue in under 10 seconds it was simply a broken belt. No customer deserves to be mocked or treated like a nuisance when they're worried about their vehicle. Extremely unprofessional. I would not recommend this business for anyone looking for an honest and respectful service.

Good service and love the complimentary car wash…read more Had mixed feelings towards sending my car here to get service as had read either really good or really bad reviews of this place (there doesn't seem to be many reviews in the middle) Dropped the car off in the morning and took the train to work and collected it after work. What I liked about them: -close to a train station (makes it easy to find a way to get to work - they are about 9 mins from St Peter's station) -they call to provide updates on the status of the service (I needed a new car battery so they called to ask about whether it is ok to go ahead with that) -they provided a complimentary car wash -the service looks good and no issues so far. What I wished they did better: -They listed that they close at 5:30pm, but when I spoke to them over the phone, they said that I should get there before 5pm as they no longer do anymore sale transactions after 5pm. So I have to leave work earlier than what I had initially expected to get there before 5pm.

Ozamahgawwwwwwwwwwd!…read more My mother, bless her little heart, left me her bomb while she is off gallivanting around the world. And her little bomb is a big bomb. In this instance anyway. I tried to start it up after 4 days of not turning it on (don't look at me like that, I live in the inner city, it's why I don't own a car!!!) the darn thing wouldn't even turn over. Nothing. It was like the sahara in the middle of the night. No, scratch that. It's a bloody underground car park and if I could have heard crickets, this is when they would have been chirping. Suffice to say I thought, oh mum's responsible, she'll have roadside assistance. I called at 6.40am. Yup, sure enough she did. They said in about 60 minutes. Ten minutes later I get the nifty sms telling me that it will be 50 minutes or there abouts until I'm seen to. Sure great, I go back into the apartment to wait it out. By 7.40am I'm outside the building again wondering what the hell happened. I call back. Operator (lovely person that she is) tells me that he's sitting outside the address, ok I say, I'll see if he's at the wrong address. I walk up and down our little back street. No NRMA man. I call again at about 7.50am. Nope, he's still there. Ok, maybe I missed him, I do my 5 minute walk up and down the street again. Nope. Nada. I wait outside until 8am. Still no NRMA man. I call back, thankfully I get the same woman on the phone so I don't have to explain my irritation to her again. Nope, he's still waiting outside my address apparently. Um no, actually no he isn't. I suggest she might want to check with the driver at this point because obviously he's not in the right place and I've now been waiting outside for 30 minutes in the bloody cold for the non-existent NRMA dude to show up. Ie. I was not a happy camper. She puts me on hold and calls the driver. Oh yes, haha, silly me, he was at the wrong address. He's now 2 minutes away. Really?! REAAAAAAALLLY!!!!!! He turned up at 8.10am - I was irritated. He tried to sell me a new battery. I told him to go away. Ps. Thanks for the charge mate that took all of, oh, barely 5 minutes to do. I know most of them do great work, but geeeeeeeez louise. When you pay for a service you don't expect to get this much of a run around.

We have been trusting Terry with our vehicles for more than 10 years and he has never let us down…read more Even when our (newly purchased) 18 month old VW had a problem, and VW servicing had no clue (went back to them twice) Terry figured it out - first time - fixed it in a day and we have never had to worry again. We've also had Honda's and taken them to him for servicing with confidence. We are now about to take our Audi's to him, and we would have no hesitation to trust Terry with any vehicle. He takes pride in his work, he charges a reasonable amount and will always fit us in. Terry is a very capable mechanic, he does most of the work himself, if there is something he isn't sure about, he will figure it out, he won't stuff you around and once it's fixed, you won't have to worry about it again. We couldn't recommend him highly enough.

I contacted them on a sunday afternoon and the phone was answered promptly the hours of availability for contact were quite extensive. Not only that but when I cancelled the inspection at the last minute, they were completely fine with it and did not charge me anything. Despite the fact that I cannot comment on the quality of their service, they offered quite a comprehensive check(including RTA vehicle check), for $200 which seems like a very competitive price.

They had a package deal which took care of all of my car's fluids and included an oil change (which is what I really went in for). I made the appointment for 10am and walked to Chatswood Chase since I had 4 hours to kill. They called me a little early and I was able to pick up the car. They had done a good job except they installed new windshield wipers that I don't think were intended for my car. They make this really annoying squeeking noise when they are on and there isn't enough water on the windshield. It would be fine if it was just a slight sound, but it's loud. Midas doesn't have to get your permission for an installation like that since you sign a waiver for additions like windshield wipers. This would be fine if they worked, so just make sure you try out the wipers if they said they replaced them.
