Lots of prepared food items in here…read more I wanted to eat a ton of food here, had it make it a quick trip so I wouldn't buy more food than I would be able to eat, plus we have no fridge in our hotel to keep the food. Their sandwiches, bowls, potato salads all look so yummy. We came knit to grab some water and head back on the roads

If you want a environmentally conscious, casual breakfast and lunch place without artificial…read moreadditives this is your spot. It is a fun location with plenty of seating, bright ambience and friendly staff. There is a parking lot out the back or street parking which is harder to find but doable. There are some options like smoothies and other 'healthy' choices which is what attracted us to drive over and try it out. Sadly given that I am vegan I found there to be very limited choices. The menu says vegan and gluten free options available but from I could tell only two things could be made vegan. It was disappointing but if we had really studied the menu I might have been more prepared. My husband tried the special of an olive filled cheese with Brussels sprout slaw which he throughly enjoyed. He said the olives were tangy and led to a great balance with the feta. It was a small portion so I shared with him so might not satisfy some for lunch. I ordered the power bowl with curried cauliflower, rice, sweet potatoes, avocados and black beans. It was pretty good but as I didn't want the cream (forgot to ask for vegan option but coconut yogurt was potentially available) it was not as creamy as possible. I think a cashew cream would have been the best option. The potato salad side was pretty bland as well, so not the best choice. I had to add tons of pepper to season it, which I try to never do but go with the chefs preference. Not an option here. My suggestion would be to have one totally vegan you don't have to ask to change anything option so as to be welcoming to those of us 'crazies' as in a new spot it is just hard to catch all the subtleties of menus. It reminded me of a healthy version of Panera to be honest. Good but not my first choice. Thus my 3 stars as if you are going to tout yourself as the healthy option then make more room for those doing optional lifestyles.

Oryana Community Co-op is hands-down my favorite place to stop in Traverse City for a vegan meal,…read morewhether it's breakfast, lunch, or just a coffee. Oryana is truly a vegan haven. Not only do they have an amazing selection of grab-and-go items, but their made-to-order options are equally impressive. Their vegan dill wrap is one of my favorites and packed with flavor. I also love their prepared tofu slices, especially the curry and smoked varieties. Most recently, I tried the peanut tofu wrap and it was absolutely out of this world, incredibly flavorful, satisfying, and very filling. They also have fantastic options on the hot bar. One standout for me is the vegan breakfast burrito. It's only around $4, surprisingly filling, and loaded with flavor. A little messy to eat, but completely worth it! If you're vegan and visiting Traverse City, Oryana is an absolute must-visit.

This store is absolutely incredible. It's a medium-sized store but it has so much to offer and I enjoyed it it doesn't feel like on the side a big box grocery store. This store is unique and many ways and the prices on all your grocery items are actually very fair. You can expect to find hard to find vegan items, a great selection of Health Products your bathroom or just everyday life. The cafe and the little dining room in the back is such a great touch to the store. The soup selection is awesome incredible awesome featuring some vegan items. Great selection of alcoholic beverages as well! I also visited it's sister store only a couple of miles away and it's just as good but I feel like this location has a slight Edge over it. Highly recommend checking out this store if you're in the area or are vacationing like myself.

Aldi is my go to store before I go anywhere else. I'd like to see if they have what I need. This…read moretime was Easter shopping and I got way over half of my list satisfied at Aldi's. They seem to have some different checkers in that are a little more personable. I love that and they don't fly your groceries through before you can even engage. It wasn't really busy when I went because there was a weather warning. We are in Northern Michigan after all. Aldi's is always clean and the orders that they get in for groceries are spectacular and sometimes offbrands other times imports. The seafood is amazing. I hope all these never closes because everyone I know talks about it. I recently bought four glass serving bowls for $15. One was broken when I opened the first package so I took it back and no questions were asked I just got a different one and it seems like very fragile glass but I just need to take care with transporting in the future. Shop at Aldi's it's worth it in savings and convenience as well as variety. I bought six cake mixes and here are pictures of the four cakes and banana pudding that I made.

It's in a great location. Prices are terrific. They even carry the Koegel brand sausage we've been missing. A special thanks to Chris (sp?). He carried my aunt's groceries to her car and loaded them. He helped her into the car, then refused to take a tip. Chris is a shining example that should be followed by more of his peers. 01/24
