2 tennis courts, 2 college/high-school baseball fields, 3 little league fields, 1 basketball court -- there certainly isn't a shortage of facilities and amenities. The playscape/playground could use an update - it doesn't appear to have changed since my days in elementary school! There are a handful of swings though, but those show significant signs of wear and tear too.
There's an area of picnic-ing/BBQ-ing, and a community pool as well. During the summer, this park is buzzing with activity.
The biggest draw for me however is Fox Hill Tower. At 72 feet tall and 24 feet in diameter, it sits on a granite platform and is built of local granite quarried in Tolland! Every year, the "July in the Sky" fireworks celebration is held here and draws a size-able crowd. Once used as an outlook by Native Americans, the tower and promenade provide nice views of Downtown Rockville as well as Talcott Mountain and Mount Holyoke. The loop around the entire park is about 3-4 miles, and can perfect for a dog -walk or just a stroll in the park. read more
