After I was in jail 6 months Mr. Dissinger came to me without ever discussing anything with my parents [who were paying him] and told me,"I can get you out of here tomorrow if you sign this paper agreeing to plead guilty to a felony" feeding on the fact that he knew I obviously wanted out of jail and that my parents would definitely tell me not to sign it, yes I signed the paper. Looking back at that situation, I would have agreed to plead guilty to murder if that's what I needed to do to get out of jail, but a good Lawyer that's actually looking out for their client's best interest shouldn't have even came to me with such a ludicrous offer unless he was simply looking to be done with the case with putting forth no time or effort to have the charge reduced to misdemeanors of under-age drinking, disorderly conduct which is exactly what should have happened. Now due to Mr. Dissinger's actions or lack of actions, I'm 57 year's old and have had many doors closed to me through out my life in regard to travel, employment and hunting because a minor mistake I made as a 19 year old kid. It's crossed my mind many times over the last 4 decades that I so wish I would have had an Attorney representing my best interest way back then in 1988 instead of having Mr. Dissinger who just takes the easiest path available....

A few weeks later I realize that small modifications were made to the paperwork without my consent and I signed the document thinking it was the exact one I was told to come in and sign. I call and complain and my attorney James says oh I thought I told you. He knows he never told me about the changes. Completely ridiculous and unethical. I know you people don't care but you are ruining someone else's life. Furthmore, after reviewing my billing, I noticed that they charge whatever they feel like for phone calls. I have 3 minute phone calls charged for 10min. 10min phone calls charged for 30min. Do you guys charge whatever you feel like? This place needs to be reported.

When the child was being neglected by her father she used that opportunity to ask for more money if we wanted her to do anything about it. You're better off being your own lawyer. Please I urge you to think twice about going with a law firm that is almost constantly advertising their business, and to be fair there are always an exception to my rules. I did that and after a 2 or 3 month waiting time because of my need to save up for their quoted price, the price went up $800.00. I did question her about price increase but got no where. I simply replied " OK let me see what I can do to scrape up more money." She replied "Ok we are here for when you need us". What kind of lawyers office would want to stick it to a potential new client? I thought their goal was to help? I then searched on line for another lawyer and came across the firm of Cunningham, Chernicoff & Warshawsky, P.C. who I have heard of only because they have been in this area for 38+ years. That amount of yrs in business speaks for itself. I called them and was greeted by a calming voice, Deloris. This firm gets a point for her because at this time I was wound up from the $800 hike-n-price lawyers office, which the differance "might" go toward paying for commercials. Deloris collected the information needed and transferred me to a paralegal, Jacob Laughman. He asked me for a bit more information and set up an appointment with Johanna H Rehkamp within one week! I felt a little more at ease. Fast forward to appointment and from the time I walked in to CC+W's door until the meeting with Johanna Rehkamp and Jacob was over I was very happy I did not go with first law firm. I actually felt more confident about my future. The people that I dealt with from CC+W were ALL very down to earth and did not make me feel on edge, whatsoever. I didn't second guess myself of going with their team once! Within roughly a month and a half time frame, everything I needed help with was taken care of and went as CC+W's team told me it would. I am a woman of respect so I won't disclose what personal problems she shared with me, but it doesn't reflect well on a family law attorney. It was comforting (facetious) when right before my custody conciliation began, she told me the custody conciliator assigned to my case is a hot mess. Deb caused my simple custody case to drag on unnecessarily for weeks, which added strife to a situation which was already stressful. This caused my family more stress, heartache, and dismay. Thankfully, there are plenty of other family law attorneys in central PA, who have better moral compasses, solid ethics, and who will be respectful in every interaction with you.
