I developed a UTI and called the office and requested an appt or medication to be sent to my pharmacy. UTI's are not something to slack around with. The longer you go, the more painful it gets. When i spoke to a staff member, i was told that i could come in the following day after 3pm. Now, i had a choice. Go to the ER and get medication or ask the staff member to reconsider this as an emergency because i needed medication.... She said, 'Tomorrow afternoon is the best we can do." That was it. When you treat patients like this, it's time to fire the doctor and find another one. Believe me, I emailed the doc and told him exactly what transpired.. All the staff had to do was call in my medication to my pharmacy and i would have been out of pain, by evening. But the staff member didn't take the doctor into consideration and the possibility of the doctor being fired. Dr. McKenzie needs to have his staff retrained, or replaced. It's bad for his business.

After being a patient at this practice for years, I am very disappointed by how my recent…read moreappointment was handled. My appointment was at 10:00 a.m. Traffic delayed me, so I called at 10:08 a.m. to notify the office. My call was not answered until approximately 10:16 a.m. Staff claimed I had called at 10:17 or 10:18, although my phone log shows a call starting at 10:08 and lasting eight minutes in total. During a conversation lasting less than a minute, I was told I had exceeded their 15-minute grace period, would not be seen, and would be charged $50. The staff then hung up on me. I had also already paid a $5 copay and received no care. I understand that offices have scheduling policies, but I expect respectful communication and an accurate review of what happened. It is especially frustrating given that I have waited more than 40 minutes or more at previous appointments at this practice. I would like management to review the phone records and staff's handling of this incident, cancel the announced $50 charge, and refund my $5 copay. Longstanding patients deserve courtesy and a fair opportunity to explain their circumstances.

In six days since, I have not been able to get anyone to give me the reason why. And, they keep referring to their physician assistant, Patino, as Dr Patino... , and only when called on it (that he is not a dr), say it was an error - but more than one person working there has does so, repeatedly hence it is no a mistake. I respect PA's, but a med office should not call PA's, drs. Whether there's a good answer to my simple question, or not, at this point is irrelevant. Finally, they told me I have to set up a zoom appt with the PA if I want an answer! There's no good excuse for it taking so long and this must effort, on something so simple. And, covid meds are time-sensitive, so this cust. service being bad is reason for me to stay clear of NeighborMD - MB and aventura office.

I just found a note she sent my local County OB-GYN in Ct in 2016 as recently had a similar issue and after having Ultrasound X-rays & seeing a wonderful Yale surgeon she agreed with exactly what Dr. B had decided ten yrs ago; I still remember Dr. B telling me in 2014 of a shadow in my L Breast and wouldn't U know in 2021 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer exactly there. I was fortunate to get wonderful care at SMILOW Cancer in Guilford CT and got thru chemo & radiation and just passed my 5 yr checkup with flying colors.
