Man, I love this little library. The building is an arts and craft building that was renovated last year and it really turned out lovely. It's very small, but the space is laid out nicely with a little kids area with a play kitchen and counter with toys. There are soft benches and a couple of media stations for kids too.
There's a meeting room adjacent to the kid area, where they hold the family and baby storytelling sessions, which are quite enjoyable for the shorties.
On the other side, the adult media area is wisely situated away from the kid area with the librarian's desk/counter in the middle.
My kid must also want a librarian job, because it's pretty much her mission to get behind that desk and hang out with the super cool staff. The librarians and assistants are very kind and very patient with my curious toddler.
I get piles of books sent here from other branches. Even though I know there can't be much staff time to get my stuff out on the shelf waiting for me, it's always quick and I've gotten lots of help finding books or other small issues I've had.
My only complaint is that this wonderful little place is only open 3 days a week. Otherwise, I feel pretty lucky to have this little gem in our neighborhood. read more
