This review is long long overdue. Afshan provided mehndi for my wedding in Santa Barbara in October 2019 and I cannot recommend her enough! She not only did my designs but also then came the next day to do close family, and then she and her mother came to our garba-raas to provide designs for the majority of our guests! Afshan is so down to earth, honest, and creative. I am not your typical indian bride and I preferred more simple design with lots of negative space- she was very understanding and provided me with exactly what i was looking for. My aunts were super impressed with her ability to create masterpieces with speed without having to compromise on design. She brought a board with aftercare instructions for our friends who had not had it before. She was so sweet, and we had so much fun together! (total of 3 days of mehndi services!). She knew exactly how to time out the mehndi so that the stain was perfect on my wedding day! (we did it four days prior). Cannot thank/recommend her enough! Book her asap! read more

We used Afshan and her mother for my Indian fusion wedding in Santa Barbara and they were phenomenal, I can't recommend them enough!! Afshan helped me design the perfect bridal henna from my reference photos that perfectly complemented my different looks. She and her mother were incredibly accommodating and it was such a joy to talk with them while they were working. Both artists did incredible designs and all of our guests raved about the designs and the entire experience. The kids especially loved getting swords and flowers. We used Henna Me Beautiful to do henna for our families the day before the wedding and brought them back so they could work with guests during our Sangeet. Both experiences were truly lovely. read more

Afshan did such a great job on my bridal henna. It took her about 7-8 hours to do my arms up to my elbows and my legs up to my knees. I couldn't even tell we spent that much time doing it. She is sweet, fast, professional and talented. The stain turned out AMAZING. My hands were almost black. Everyone was so impressed with her work and the stain. Afshan's mom and sister did the henna for my guests at our Sangeet. Everyone loved them. They were so quick and so easy to work up. The only thing I will say, which I don't think is a negative but it should be known, they do not do henna on men. read more

One of the best parts about hiring Afshan for my gathering was the quality art she created , just beautiful artistry and attention to detail . As a critic all I can say is: QUALITY work- from the hand mixed henna without harsh chemicals or irritants to the impeccable stain and proffesialism exhibited by the artist herself- Bravo! She was so fast and the designs she created were incredibly intricate and unique. I booked her as a "surprise guest " for my women's night. The girls would have never guessed a henna artist would be arriving. I absolutely love looking down at my henna and feel so beautiful. She was also just a pleasure to be around, so lovely. I would love to book Afshan again and again! read more

Afshan did my bridal henna in November 2021 and was absolutely wonderful to work with. She was helpful and responsive when I first contacted her, and made it easy to book my appointment. She uses the best, natural ingredients, and did a beautiful job on my hands. Not only did she meet me at my hotel to do my henna, but she came to another hotel that night where I was hosting a pre-wedding party and applied henna on a number of my and my husband's family members. Everyone's henna turned out dark and beautiful. Afshan also provided great tips for keeping my henna looking nice for several days afterward. She was incredibly sweet and friendly and had COVID protocols in place that helped me feel safe as well. I'm so grateful that Afshan helped me look my best at my wedding reception and would recommend her to anyone. read more

Such an awesome experience! Very sweet, super thankful she went out of her way to attend to me last minute. The design was free handed and I'm glad I let her work her magic. Definitely going to do this again! read more

Afshan did my henna (and both moms' henna) in a private appointment at her home studio a few days before my wedding. She and her team also came to our rehearsal dinner/welcome party location to do our guests' henna the night before our wedding. They were wonderful with our diverse group of guests, many who were having henna done for the first time (though note, she doesn't do henna on men). They all really loved the experience and their beautiful henna. The Henna Me Beautiful team are all incredibly talented artists. Afshan was incredibly easy to work with. She helped me figure out just how many artists we'd need for the night of the party based on our number of guests and hours. She was also very straightforward with all the necessary information, including pricing, payment, requirements/suggestions for how to make the party henna go smoothly, etc. She even showed up with some beautiful fabrics to decorate the henna tables with. All in all, she and Henna Me Beautiful are highly highly recommended. The pics speak for themselves! read more

Professional and highly skilled. We had Afshan and another artist at our Mendhi party/sangeet with about 150 guests. They were incredible. Beautiful designs, quickly drawn and everyone was thrilled. I would definitely use her again!!! read more

Afshan is a sweet, darling woman and she has a gift. My sister and I treated ourselves to Henna and we were very lucky to have found Henna Me Beautiful during our stay in Santa Barbara. You can choose to do something traditional or let Afshan create a freestyle design. We chose freestyle and I'm still admiring her work. Also, she shared a story with me about learning how to do Henna from her mother and how her toddler daughter likes to go around the house saying that she does Henna! Super sweet. Will definitely hire her again when I'm in town and treating myself to body art. read more

What an amazing experience! Afshan is a wonderful person and a very talented artist - she made the whole experience really enjoyable. She created a mandala design specifically for my belly, and was so warm and sweet the entire time she worked on it. She also did intricate designs on my hands in what felt like record time! Her henna art is so lovely, and she herself is such a lovely person - you cannot go wrong with having her do henna for you. Highly recommended! read more

Beautiful work! Very friendly and comfortable environment. Looking forward to another girls night.

I always knew I wanted henna on my pregnant belly and when my friends found Henna Me Beautiful to come to my baby shower I was so excited! It was a wonderful experience. So wonderful that I invited Afshan back for my second baby's "Sprinkle." The love and respect that went into each piece were so appreciated. I requested a sun for my first and a lotus for my second but other than that, the artist did her thing. If not for another baby, I'll find some reason to be pampered by Afshan again! read more

My daughter had a 8 year old birthday party and Afshan did Henna for all the girls. She is so fast and her designs are so intricate. I am amazed at the quality of her designs. The girls loved it and she even added colored glitter. Afshan is so lovely to be around and knows how to work with adults and children. I highly recommend her for any event. She also did a pregnancy belly design for a baby shower we had. The mother to be was so happy with the design and had this beautiful pregnancy memory. read more

Afshan is a true artist and has a lovely, warm personality. She did my bridal henna and stayed on to do henna for friends and family at our Mehndi party. I couldn't have been happier with my henna and everyone had such a good time at the party! Even at the end of the day, after many, many hours of henna painting, Afshan was consistently creating beautiful designs. I loved looking around the room and seeing everyone smiling and laughing and showing off their henna. She uses all-natural paste, which was great on my sensitive skin and provides a really rich, dark stain. Thank you, Afshan, for making my wedding weekend extra special! read more

Henna Me Beautiful is a professional henna artist. I have been a henna artist myself and am very picky about the designs and who I get henna done from. But i like her henna because she has great line control and her patterns are open and never over crowded. I know that she makes her own henna from organic materials and that puts me at ease because I never use chemical store bought henna cones those have all kinda of nasties in them and are dangerous for your health of course. read more

Such a fun night! My sister surprised me and all my girlfriends with henna at my bachelorette party and it was a hit! Afshan is not only extremely talented and quick, but she was also so sweet and professional. She comes up with her own beautiful designs and was also open to doing whatever designs we wanted too. Afshan hid my fiancé's name in my henna tattoos and it was a fun little touch. She also taped up our tattoos at the end of the night, so that we wouldn't get it all over the sheets in the house we were renting. So thoughtful. We all enjoyed having her there and we've been getting so many compliments at work. :) read more
