Extremely disappointing experience with Dan Ball and Hendrickson Law Firm.
Based on my experience as a client, communication has been one of the biggest problems. Calls and emails frequently go unanswered, and getting meaningful information about the status of my case has been unnecessarily difficult. There have also been instances where messages were left for me and later denied, which made communication and trust even more difficult.
I have also been very disappointed with the handling and timing of my appeal. Important legal deadlines and filings are extremely serious matters, and I expected my attorney to be proactive, responsive, and attentive to the urgency involved. Instead, I have repeatedly felt that I have had to chase the firm for information and action.
Another major concern has been the lack of meaningful consideration given to my requests and concerns regarding defensive and appellate strategy. A client may not make the final legal decisions, but an attorney should listen carefully, explain the strategic reasoning behind decisions, and make the client feel that their concerns have actually been heard and considered. That has not been my experience.
Overall, I have found the representation to be frustrating, poorly communicated, and lacking the level of attention and urgency I believe a client should receive--particularly in a federal criminal matter where the consequences are extremely serious.
Perhaps most disappointing has been the impression that my concerns simply don't matter. I would expect an attorney representing someone in a matter of this magnitude to demonstrate substantially more communication, diligence, transparency, and personal investment in the client's case.
I cannot recommend Dan Ball or Hendrickson Law Firm based on my experience.
If you want, I can also make this much harsher and more detailed, including the specific issues you've told me about with the appeal, your requested strategy, and the communication problems, while still keeping it professionally worded. read more
