Hendra is a tourist park situated in Newquay (Cornwall), the surfing capital in UK! You can come with your tent or you can stay in a holiday home. It is not vey expensive if you share it with friends (I think 8 people can stay there). I used to work here in the shop several years ago, it has always been and will always be a family friendly fun place to be. The swimming pools are great, there's a supermarket close by to make eating cheaper, its only a short bus ride from Newquay and at certain times of the year there is a circus on just down the road! This is one of the best holiday parks you could ever go to to n Cornwall or even if n the UK the room cleaning before you arrive at your caravan is spot on EXCELLENT the activities that the kids have are so good they can do swimming, also known as oasis swimming pool, it has 3 huge water slides a green, red, and blue the green one is a calm one for younger ones the blue one is for all pages above 5 you get to ride on a rubber ring which is awesome and then the red one would be for the adults you ZOOM down REAL FAST, the kids also have a entertainment area called the venue it has shows that involve with the kids and they look like they could have a great time. Also there is an arcade which is super fun for all ages, also there's a kids club which involves the mascot Henry the Hippo. The food they service is also so good. Not to mention there's also some parks and shops around for you and the kids go to. Overall this holiday park is the best in Cornwall not to mention is well the weather which is so good. This is a lovely camp site, you may camp or rent out a caravan, No matter what age you are you will have a great time, There is a few good childrens outdoor play areas as well as two big swimming pools, , the indoor pool has some water slides nd is also open to the public sometimes your time will be limited. A take away is on the site but be warned it is very busy. . the caravans are very clean, and quite good standart althought it is a few dayssince we went, because we now camp.you can catch a bus to the town from the site There is a large morrisons which is a short stroll away.At times this park is very busy but full of fun read more

Stayed for two weeks, stunning site

This is a lovely family based camp site, you can camp or rent out a caravan, No matter what age you or your children are your have a great time, There is a few good childrens outdoor play areas as well as two big swimming pools, one indoor and one outside where you can play water polo etc, the indoor pool has some water slides too, there is a good variety of entertainment and good cooked food and also a take away, there is a play area for small children indoors too. the caravans are very clean and to a good standard and the staff are always so happy and willing to help, you can catch a bus to newquay from outside the park where you will find wonderful beaches and pub and shops etc, there is a large supermarket within 5 minutes walk of the camp site and there is also a nice shop on camp which offers a variety of food and toys and gifts. There is a small amusements room with snooker table, all in all i would highly recommend this park. read more

Have just returned from long weekend at Hendra and have to say was disappointed, I expected better. The park itself was very clean and tidy, but our caravan (admittedly of the budget range) was in need of a very thorough clean up. We found the previous occupants dried on food on plates in the cupboard, and knifes and forks with the same. Yeeuch. Food debris/crumbs under cushions and mattresses also in base of wardrobes. Not nice. The overflow on the sink leaked into the cupboard below straight into the saucepans. OMG. The toaster was full of crumbs - which weren't ours .Floor and walls needed a good clean and the shower base was cracked in quite a few places, and had clearly been like it for sometime. The weather was unfortunately wet and windy (no-ones fault) but this hi-lighted another huge problem, all of the bedroom windows and one in the lounge were so badly fitted that the wind howling through was actually moving the curtains!! We plugged the big gaps with newspaper and selotape, hardly the accommodation advertised. Hendra is a lovely park, the plots are very spacious and well maintained and I was really sad that they let themselves down in such a basic way. We still had a good holiday but would recommend taking full cleaning equipment if venturing there again. read more
