Disappointed, Yelp advised that the next nearest store was this Vitamin Shoppe on Oxford Valley Road. It was only 10 minutes away, so we drove over to take care of our business. The retail space was clean and well lit. The solitary woman holding the fort this Sunday evening was friendly and had everything under control. She directed us to the location for sleep assistance. There, in the bottom two shelves was their collection of what we needed. It wasn't a huge selection, but enough to make an informed choice. Melatonin was well represented, but I wanted something with a broader spectrum of natural compounds and herbs that worked together and allowed that people react differently to supplements, thus increasing the chance that one or more ingredients would be effective, even if others were not. I found something with both melatonin and valerian root and 7 other natural elements that have shown usefulness relaxing and helping move toward and into sleep. It seems to be working so far. My wife is now sleeping through the night and falling asleep more quickly when ready. Will let you know if that changes.

Furthermore, I felt bullied as the manager continued to be accusatory towards me in an unfriendly tone. I just felt I deserved an apology but he seemed to actually double down on his unfounded allegations. Very sad occurrence and an example of the worst kind of customer service.

And to be fair, they did have some cool options, a few new brands, and unique finds I hadn't come across before. Definitely a good spot if you're into wellness and herbal products it helped to take some time and read up on a few things. When we first walked in, the vibe seemed friendly and calm. My family and I (just the three of us) were really just browsing, not touching everything, and stayed together. But the energy shifted a bit. Only one older staff member acknowledged us--but she also seemed to be following us. We'd change aisles, and she'd change aisles too. At one point I asked, "Are you following us? If so, can you help me find the chlorophyll?" She did show us, but the experience rubbed me the wrong way. The price wasn't clearly marked as member-only, which I only realized later. Then, after she left, another staff member appeared in the same area--which made me feel profiled. Not a great feeling. At checkout, I gave my number to sign up for the membership, thinking I'd get the discount but I never received it, and no one explained why. Left feeling confused and a bit disappointed. Stan was within holding court. The store isn't large, but it is generally well stocked, and he is very knowledgeable about nutrition. I told him what I needed, and he escorted me to their respective locations. Luckily, I was able to secure the last K7 in stock (strengthens the immune system) and he made sure the iron wasn't for me (can cause cardiac issues in men). I assured him that was the case and we completed our transaction. Prices were reasonable and the entire episode lasted under 15 minutes; just the amount of time offered by the limited parking zone out in front. Given the usual difficulty with Doylestown Borough parking, I knew this was my lucky day.
