Before Michelle, we paid bills and saved some but mostly just ignored our finances. Michelle started by asking us a bunch of questions about retirement dreams, potential family needs, and what we wanted our lives to look like over the next few decades. Some questions she asked were things we had never talked about, which was a useful endeavor in and of itself. It really felt like she wholly supported us in reaching our goals, but she also was the wiser older sister (errr I think we might be older, but you get the point) that was real with us about where we might need to cut back to make those goals a reality.
