My grandma is happy and relieved because she qualifies for a lot of resources. Such as food programs and a podiatrist consultation.

My grandma is a senior and she needed assistance with housing, financial assistance programs, food delivery services, and transportation services. I am so glad I called this business, because Sonya(intake coordinator) assisted us. She explained everything thoroughly and was very patient with us. The application process was simple and fast. The care coordinator provided us with a list of local resources. My grandma applied for the LIHEAP program and they paid $727 towards her LADWP bill. She also qualified for "Meals on wheels": it's a food delivery program. Words can't express how grateful we are. P

Beverly and Brenda Covarrubias helped my uncle get a cane, bed pads, wipes and helped him find a caregiver. The process was smooth and fast.

The world is a difficult place and it isn't about handouts.. it is about HELPING your fellow human being. Some people don't have families to run to and have to find other resources... Luckily, the Interfaith Food Pantry is here to help. This branch in Studio City serves Studio City and North Hollywood whether you are homeless or stuck in a poverty rut without food. Every Monday and Friday, from 10am-1pm , the First Christan Church (on the corner of Moorpark and Colfax) opens its doors to help those in need. You bring an ID/ proof of residency (different branches of Interfaith help different geographic locales so it goes by zip code) or the homeless just state their situation. Interfaith works on the honor code since no one would be so cheap as to pretend to be homeless to gain some canned goods. (It provides pop-open canned goods for the homeless). Everyone gets two bags. Generally a brown bag with canned goods, some pasta or beans, canned tuna, etc and a plastic bag with bread from stores such as Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (seriously). These are the breads that "expire" that day from the grocers so the food bank picks them up. The plastic bags also feature any other bakery goodies they gain like cupcakes, coffee cakes, etc. No meats or milk but this isn't a grocery store. No thrills, no fuss, JUST HELP. Bless the people with hearts.

It is 103 degrees. - Too much staff standing around and talking, not enough actual help. - I hate to leave a 1 star review but they get away with what they do because the people that utilize the facility don't want to risk being kicked out or face more discrimination from the employees. - I am leaving 3 stars because what they do is important but there needs to be better oversight and some sort of training on how to DE-ESCALATE situations (specifically the woman photographed that literally chased down my husband saying "do we have a problem)?" - Also, training in FEDERAL ADA Law and MEDICAL TRAINING for how to deal with mental illness & disability for staff to de ecalate and assist in situations should be MANDATORY at facilities like these. - Being scolded like a child or spoken to like a dog is unacceptable. - Final note, a social worker calling a trangender woman a HE, telling security to "Help HIM and get HIS things" is not okay; some sensitivity training could go a long way at this location.
