great hiking spot in LA. easy trails to start and a little more difficult the further you go, with fantastic views. there are people that live here and take care of the grounds, hence the name. they also have a nursery at the entrance. perfect LA hiking destination!

Trees need people, people need trees. I love this ... My second time coming here with my son. This time my husband joined us as well. First we walked all around the area checking out all the trees that were recently planted. Then we went further for a short hike. This place is amazing. Tree people as an organization inspires and supports the neighborhoods to come together and plant and care for trees. They work with educators and students to train the next generation of eco-conscious leaders. There are many volunteer opportunities here and my next step is to get involved and support this amazing cause. Would love to volunteer a few times a year to make a difference in our neighborhoods.

I love Tree People, first as an organization, growing trees, plants, and helping communities get greener and thrive. Preservation is part of their work as well and many volunteers do amazing work to spread the word and the greenery through our city that needs trees and green spaces more and more. They are located at Coldwater Canyon, there's a parking lot and their cool center and gardens near by. I like to hike up to it via Fryman Canyon and stop at Tree People for a break in the action. Take up the nice views from up there, check out what they are up to, what plants they're growing. They also have nice restrooms and great picnic areas. We used the benches and the nice shady picnic tables for a snack, a picnic, enjoyed reading a book while relaxing, watching the birds, away from noise and it all. There are plants, flowers around and cute trails. There's also a small outdoor amphitheater where they have some shows in the summer. Unfortunately, right now Tree People is closed temporarily because of COVID-19. It was sad to see it closed, but I hope they'll re-open it when they'll think it's safe. It's a peaceful place in LA, up on top, with nature around and incredible views. Great work, beautiful place!

My daughter had a great time! They gave her a plant to take home. It's located on Mulholland drive. They had the opportunity to learn more about trees. Too bad they didn't see any animals (snakes and bugs). Beautiful location!

Nice park to enjoy in the morning with your dog, walking trails and, seat to relax and enjoy the view. They have a parking lot. Also, they have tables for picnics. You don't feel you are in the middle of the city.

"Let's go to Tree People!" is obviously a sentence which due to its grammatical incorrectness, would leave many people (including myself) a bit baffled. Are Tree People a group of tree-hugging, granola-eating, hippies singing kumba-ya? Is it a village of statues in the form of people made out of tree bark? It's sort of all of those, in a way. Okay, not really about the people statues. Tree People is a non-profit organization with its headquarters located at the top of a peak in Coldwater Canyon Park. It resides at the homebase of the old Mountain Patrol station #1 of the LA Fire department in the 1920s. Meaning, they were the rangers on horses whom kept an eye out for forest and wild fires. Smokey the Bear's best friends, if you will. Today, Tree People is an organization which hosts school field trips (the kiddos get to plant trees and learn about sustainability and geology), plays at the amphitheater, and even weddings and events in their community center/hall. While at Tree People, you will encounter a beautifully maintained nature center with several hiking paths (you almost don't know where to begin!) which extend into Coldwater Canyon Park and small exhibits explaining tree planting, a small depiction of a road and storm drains leading to the ocean, and home money-saving and earth-saving sustainability ideas. Such as: connecting your rain gutters to a barrel to save water during our rainy weeks and then a hose to the barrel to water those plants in the summer. What a great idea! Immediately my boyfriend excitedly yelled, "Let's do this when we have a house!". Some of the hiking paths also have small learning outposts where kids can learn about various rock formations and rock layers form. Basically, Tree People has provided a family-oriented hiking center which is good for both the learning brain and the physical self. PLEASE TAKE NOTE: Tree People is merely the nonprofit organization and the community center at the top of the peak. The hiking trails and other areas mentioned in the other reviews are falsely in this listing when they should be in the Coldwater Canyon Park listing. Hippies or tree statues, Tree People is a wonderful organization and a great place for adults and children alike to begin or end an afternoon's hike. Plus, it is free! That's always welcome!

I don't know who these Tree People are, sounds like a group out of Lord of the Rings or Star Wars, but I like what they are doing! First off they offer free parking to use Coldwater Canyon Park. You need to pay at the Fryman entrance. B. They have planted more than 2 million trees. 2 MILLION!! Bravo And lastly, They offer guided full moon hikes for $5, how awesome is that?! As well as summer performances in the outdoor amphitheater and youth programs to educate our children on urban forestry. Through volunteers and donations they are making LA greener and how can you not give that 5 stars? There are picnic tables, water fountains and benches galore all along their mulch lined trails which smell amazing by the way. What a breath of fresh air, literally.

I have been coming to this park for about 8 years off and on. I love this park. beautiful views and pet friendly. It's a true oasis for the person who loves all things nature and wants a green earth with lush trees and clean air. I especially like that they have lessons on how to be green! Don't trash it up, instead taking it in, take a deep breath and enjoy mother nature and all of its beauty!

I went off path and ended up here ... don't be like me , stay on course lol there was nothing back there FYI lol

Definitely a really nice place to hike. I never have an issue with parking being that they have their main parking and also parking across the street , it's never overly crowded, and they have really nice scenery not to mention the grass is amazingly green lol . I also went on a night hike here and the view of the valley was beautiful. They also have a really cool vending machine that has water ,snacks and ginger shots!! It's a little pricey in my opinion but hey ..and it takes card so don't worry . Overall would definitely recommend.

One of my favorite hikes in LA. Super easy parking, picnic tables with a view, relatively easy hike also. Great views of the valley.

This place is a high volume efficiently run operation. I started coming here based on recommendation from a friend of mine saying that it was easier then going to the Center for testing. James has been my provider until recently where he has now moved on to working part time. I've seen Daniel, Victor, Luz, and one other I'm blanking on in the moment. They all have been exceptional. I even recently had to drive out to the location near South Central on Broadway and I found the crew there to be top notch. As an RN I offer an analysis of why this facility is good. Your results for testing are processed in their in house lab which takes way less time than going to your PCP and having things sent to Quest. If you are experiencing symptoms this could mean faster treatment and less time in pain. The turn around time for Quest or Cedars Main Lab is sadly 4 days to a week Although all my clinicians have been excellent James and Victor stand out. They are thorough with their assessments and take time to talk to you as a patient. They are both knowledgable. I haven't experienced the Sunset Office yet, my friends who use it say they receive excellent care.

First off, this is so strangely restricted and unsafe the way that they chain off the lot and block parking, as if to make it as difficult as possible to delivery a donation. Secondly, the elderly man that I have encountered there, several times, should NOT be dealing with the pubic. He is always rude and unkind & usually we just ignore his bad attitude, but today was the TOPPER!! I arrived to deliver two big boxes of donations and the elderly man was beyond repugnant!!! At one point, he is yelling something at me with his mask on and has he has my second box in his arms and I can not understand him. I say "Sir, I am so sorry I do not understand you" to which he slams my box of donations on the ground and then screams "no pet hair" and I still have no idea what he is talking about. And then he barks "I am allergic!!!" OK I get allergies but sir, you are dealing with the general public and I am sure a lot of people have dogs and cats. He then pulls out a nice jacket from my box and discards it towards me. I was so baffled....it is a perfect fine clothing item with no pet hair on it. There was hair on the jacket and it was MINE!!!! I have donated a lot in my history but never encountered such a disgusting and grotesquely foul man before at any donation center!! Was sent to the back of the line to wait again. Second intern seemed uncomfortable and awkward in our sessions, and did not take responsibility for and took weeks to set me up on their portal - meanwhile our GoogleMeets were not HIIPA complaint and I could not pay for weeks of sessions on a secure payment site. This intern was a "seasoned" therapist (as per the director) but seemed to not have a sense of sophistication with regard to Jungian concepts and I had to explain things to her, so I was paying to teach her. She also yawned during our sessions without covering her mouth, and once cut off our session without care during a very vulnerable moment for me, seemingly having lost track of time, needing to rush off to her next client. The director, Lynn Easley, took no responsibility or accountability for the way i had been treated over the five months or the way this had managed, and proceeded to suggest that the problems were mine, in a gaslighting kind of way, with zero consciousness of her lack of reflection or care. Shockingly unprofessional, lacking in empathy, lacking in customer service, lacking in accountability, lacking in promptness. Indeed, the problem is mine and it is with this organization. I had wonderful and generous responses from the Jungian center in San Francisco and through referrals I was matched with a gifted therapist within three business days of reaching out to them. Obviously targeted at Jungian analysts (which I am not), the speakers are learned, accomplished and doubtless engrossed with the subject matter. Also the $40 admission is a bit steep for lay people that are not writing off the fee on their taxes as research/education. I've left the lectures feeling that I would have rather spent the money in the bookstore instead. There isn't anything elitist about this place, just maybe needs a B-12 injection?
