We had a Living Social deal, but I looked online at the regular rates and they are very reasonable for the industry. We were greeted by Vicky (the owner) and Karen (who also does nutrition). The space is absolutely beautiful and by the end of our visit I didn't want to leave this healing oasis. Vicky gave us the grand tour and we found out they have a yoga studio, 2 massage/reiki/healing private rooms, and a little meditation room. During my session Vicky made me feel very comfortable and let me openly express what I was experiencing. I can best describe it as making the energy flow more freely within your body and leaves you feeling extremely relaxed (and possibly enlightened!). Physically, her hands were placed on various parts of my body, no heavy pressure, it's very gentle. The foot bath at the end was an added bonus, but I likely would not purchase it if it was not included. They served us tea (in Styrofoam, would have preferred a nice ceramic mug) while our feet soaked and then came back in to wipe off our feet at the end. I look forward to returning to Pippi's when I am back in town and am overjoyed this resource now exists in Fayetteville. If you are into alternative/holistic health Pippi's is a must! I am left with one lasting question: Who IS Pippi?

Lissa and Thrive In Healing/The Syracuse Yoga Collective are among my favorites. I know that whenever I attend, I'm in for an easy, relaxing, rejuvenating flow. The energy is always good and the mood is always welcoming. I recently enjoyed a candlelight rooftop yoga session on a downtown rooftop on a particularly warm night in October (what a treat!) and it was so restoring and full of community and self-love. Plus, fun - there was a DJ! Lissa tends to end her lessons with a sound bath, which adds an extra element. Looking forward to even more experiences!

However, I had the pleasure of attending serval Thrive in Healing events & I have to say it has made my stay in this town a bit more worth it! Lisa is amazing with leading the way in amazing yoga sessions. I didn't mind this too much, but the service just confirmed my suspicions. Dr. Elaine also works as the office's bookkeeper and secretary. She called to inquire about my insurance policy and gave the customer service representative a horrible attitude from the start. Her husband, who is also a chiropractor there, was in one of the examination rooms, screaming at someone on the phone. He then proceeded to make his way to the front room and scream at his wife to give up on our insurance, after only five minutes on the phone with our policy holder. When we asked if they would be seeing us or not that day, due to the insurance situation, both Elaine and her husband began to scream over each other, in what I assume was an attempt to explain the situation. We explained that their attempts at explaining were unclear and proceeded to leave after they told us we wouldn't be able to find chiropractic services anywhere. All in all, this was a horrible experience with deplorable customer service. I can't say how efficient they are at their chiropractic services, since I didn't get to experience them, but if their attitudes are a testament to their care I would stay clear. Their screaming match gave me a panic attack, which they didn't seem to give a single care about. Also, they are not LGBT friendly, from the impression I recieved.

After attending one of his classes I've felt the most peace and inner freedom that I've ever felt in my life. It was seriously one of the most relaxing things I've ever done -- I can have an incredibly stressful day, come here and leave feeling a little lighter and happier. ILY's classes encourage you to challenge yourself, yet find your own practice and they don't encourage their students to all "look the same." Their instructors recognize that every individual has different strengths and weaknesses and deplore how yoga magazines sometimes emphasize there's a "right and only way" to do a posture. Practically every class will be imbued with a tinge of spiritual wisdom, so if that's not your thing -- you may get a little turned off. I encourage you to stick with it and just take it for what it is. They are just words which may resonate with you or they may not. The practice is great. Best studio in Syracuse -- hands down. In fact, every time I visit my parents in Syracuse I make an effort to go to a class. My only wish is they would have such compassionate and knowledgeable instructors who are able to blend theory with practice so perfectly in every city.
