M mom is almost 87 and no longer drives. She has a very hard time even walking. Is there a service to get groceries for her or take her to the doctor? She lives in Roseville. What does this cost?

I cannot begin to applaud ComfortKeepers enough for their work with me and my mom. The service and…read moreexperience from start to finish was truly great and I'm very appreciative. They assigned a caregiver to my mom (who is 60 years old and quadriplegic) for my entire wedding day; someone who would simply be with my mom in case any needs arose. She was with my mom during the 3 total hours of transit to and from the wedding, and throughout the wedding day...ComfortKeepers even set up a meeting the day before my wedding between the caregiver and my mom so my mom could meet her and get to know her before the big day. The caregiver was great and was handpicked to serve my mom best. They were tremendously thoughtful in the planning process, too. They worked with me for ~2 years (because my wedding had to be postponed) - all the while putting my mind at ease and setting up everything in a timely manner and gathering all the info they needed to do a great job. The info they gathered included very considerate questions: getting to know my mom on a deeper level in order to provide the best care. Special thanks to Caren who supported this entire process. I would highly recommend the Citrus Heights team a thousand times over.

She went on vacation and gave them notice over a month in advance as required. The office staff didn't let me know untill the week she was leaving. I would not recommend this at home care service. The folks who run it are unfortunately…read moreunprofessional and do not communicate with their clients. I would only give it a one star, however, we have had some really great people who were lovely and competent. They have a high turnover rate due to low wages and hiring folks who don't have enough experience or were just there for a short time while they were at school. We have also had people who would come in and do their own laundry(under wear.) They use an app but it doesn't work half the time and the care notes don't really communicate what the other person did before them. They don't allow overtime for employees. We have been left without care before because they don't guarantee a replacement. They are also extremely judgmental about their clients. I would avoid them at all costs and speaking of costs, they raised the price and have dynamic pricing that they don't tell you when they raise it. They are also not licensed and bonded. Just steer clear and I haven't even mentioned some of the worst parts.

Kait set up an appointment with Bob, the owner, to meet with us to discuss our needs and concerns and let us know he would get back to us after working with the scheduler, Heather, to let us know if they could staff the hours that we needed. Bob also reviewed the costs and the company's expectations of us as clients. I have read some of the complaints and feel they are unfounded. Businesses can't survive if they don't protect themselves. Comfort Keepers works very hard to assign and schedule caregivers that can meet the needs of each patient and they deserve respect if and when service needs to be cancelled. I personally worked with each caregiver to make sure they were comfortable with my mother-in-law and that my mother-in-law accepted them in her home. Each and every one of the care givers were well trained, kind, and respectful. The situation was challenging, and they were all wonderful! I have nothing but respect for this company and the people they hire. The care givers told me that they truly love working for Comfort Keepers because they offer excellent training, and they are treated well. Our family has since contracted with Comfort Keepers for another family member.

But later as we are reviewing the Plan of care, we realized she hadn't heard us at all. When asked about it she made us feel inferior. But we knew if our parent didn't have the routine that we had explained that they would not accept help. my siblings and I have been caring for our parents for the past few years and just needed some time here and there for our own families. We were told Comfort keepers is the best so we read reviews and looked over their website and agreed that we would sign up. first of all there are only 2 administrators which seems to show that is overwhelming. Penny became snappy with us and maybe she is just overworked we don't know and can only assume. The scheduler and the caregivers were truly kind and caring. The scheduler unfortunately had to listen to us many times vent about how the plan of care wasn't what we had asked for which was simple... cook breakfast, clean the kitchen, provide conversation with our parents (we even made sure to tell penny a number of topics that were of interest to our parents) . we provide the grocery shopping and have a housekeeper for the house. Many caregivers were kind and compassionate. But there seemed to be an extremely high turnover of employees. We have since joined a caregiver support group to help us cope with the decline of our parents and discovered that there is many who have expressed the same concerns. we have since chosen another agency to provide care for our parents and the administration (so far we have counted 5 administrators) have all been so understanding, seem to have heard us and the caregivers are also amazing. We even got to see one of our past caregivers who had cared for mom and dad through comfort keepers and were shocked when she walked in (happy to see her) when we asked her about I she stated that she had left Comfort Keepers and is now with this agency, we then asked her why she left comfort keepers and she would only say that she didn't see eye to eye with the administration in the office and was very professional in her answer. I have sat on this for a while now because I wanted to make sure I left a review with sound mind and not anger. I wish everyone who cares for their family members peace and calmness and hope you find an agency who listens.

Comfort Keepers is EXCELLENT! Their management team were responsive, empathic and supportive…read more They listened to our needs, assessed my husband's physical and medical status, and sent caregivers who helped us beyond measure. Every single caregiver was on time, friendly, and helpful in every possible way. We felt safe, cared for and supported in healing. The overnight caregivers allowed me to sleep and helped my husband with medications, bathroom needs and making sure he was safely in bed whenever he got up, or moved around. The daytime care was equally attentive, friendly and engaged with our needs without being invasive or hovering. As my husband's health is now better, we are beyond grateful for all of the attention and care Comfort Keepers provided. THANK YOU!!!

I had used their services for my mom in March 2023 when she had discharged from the hospital and…read morethey were good for round the clock care for a week. I hired them again in June but it took 3 tries for anyone to call me to get serviced reactivated. Staff had told me that Kaitlin would contact me - never did. To be honest, I was desperate and need home care services asap until I could get my mom into an Assisted Living facility. The first couple of caregivers were fine. I had lined up caregivers round the clock. There was one instance where my mom had to go to the ER for shortness of breath and was released later that afternoon. I called Comfort Keepers to make sure that a caregiver was coming later that evening. When the night caregiver did not show, I called and they told me that the caregiver was canceled because my mom went to the ER. No one let me know. I was livid and upset. They did find a caregiver short notice. Then one of the caregivers failed to change all of my mom's undergarments even though it was clear that she had an accident. So he basically left my mom in a wet pad and I had to change her. I honestly wonder if the caregivers have the proper training to help older adults who have various health issues. I would NOT recommend them to use for any of your loved ones. If your loved one needs round the clock care, I would recommend looking into respite care at Assisted Living facilities.
