When we visited Merano we decided to book here for lunch and having read some of the yelp reviews had high hopes for a good meal but unfortunately, it was not such a good meal and I was slightly disappointed. The service & wine was very good here and hence the three stars.
It's located in the back of a building and the restaurant is fairly big with seating for well over a hundred people. There is outdoor seating for the warmer days. It was fairly busy at lunchtime and they gave us a table at one end of the restaurant which was very nice.
The menu has a lot of choices but unfortunately the choice of pasta is very slim. The vegetarian choices are also very slim here. They have a wood fired oven and there are many choices for pizza. I had the pizza Hellweger which had buffalo mozzarella, Parma ham and fresh basil & tomatoes. The pizza was soaking wet and made the base very soggy and not tasty. The tomato sauce was lacking flavor and all in all, it was not a pizza, I would have again.
Service was great and they were very helpful right from the start. The wine list was small but had a couple of good choices in it. I really enjoyed the wine we had here. It's expensive for what it is and I am not sure I would come back here again. There are many choices for restaurants in town and I would try other places before giving this one a go again. read more
