I feel like we totally lucked out finding them. The way they take pictures is so natural, it almost looks like dancing. One of the favorite moments of the night was a bunch of my friends getting in a huge pile on the floor, and then looking up to see Amari right there snapping a picture, and everyone smiling for him. It was already a glorious moment, but when we realized we were being photographed, it extended the feeling exponentially. I should add that they're a breeze to work with. I interviewed several photographers before I found them, and ran into weird difficulties regarding the terms of the contracts. I didn't have unusual demands, but my parents are both lawyers and a little picky about those things. Madelynn and Amari were so refreshing in this regard. So I met Pamela at a friend's wedding that she was photographing for them. After the wedding, I…read moresaw some of the shots on Facebook and really liked them. I had met Pamela and could just tell she was a good person - you know how you just know sometimes. My wife is pregnant and we had gone back and forth between wanting to do maternity photos and not. We decided just a few days before my wife left for Japan that we wanted to do them so I contacted Pamela. Pamela was great - her rates were really reasonable and she totally accommodated our very short and last minute time frame. She didn't rush us during our appointment and didn't charge us extra for going over our 1 hour time limit just slightly. Best of all, we got a CD with all of the photos in high res, no watermarks, just a few days after our shoots. I don't know about you but it seemed crazy to pay someone a few hundred dollars just to take the photos after which they blackmail you into buying photos from their overpriced provider unless you want to pay another $400 for the CD. Even though there are usually only a handful of REALLY good shots, I want all of them, and I want them in High res and royalty free - that's what we got with Pamela. The photos came out fantastic, the experience was wonderful and the price was very reasonable - what more can you ask for. Marcel and Meher were the photographers for our November 2014 wedding in San Francisco. We were…read moreinitially impressed by their style that combines the popular documentary/photojournalistic style with some formal portraits. Just the right amount of intensity and artistry without any fluffy or fake overly-wrought special effects. We were sold! We ended up doing an engagement shoot with them to get more comfortable with them and had a great time in wine country. On our wedding day, they put us at ease and were completely unfazed by the usual minor kinks that come up during the day. They even put up with (and, for a few shots, encouraged) our tendency to mug and make faces for the camera. For two people who hate posing for photos, we had so much fun taking the sunset photos that our friend had to summon us back to rescue our tipsy guests from the now-rowdy cocktail hour(s)! Somehow, they both also seemed to disappear into the background while taking photos-they were clearly everywhere, but we never noticed them (and they somehow didn't end up in any of our friends' photos either). We luckily did manage to pull them into a serious-then-silly photobooth shot to end the night. It's impossible to overstate what an unbelievable bonus it is to have two highly skilled professional photographers at your wedding! Marcel and Meher each have a unique viewpoint (and you get photos from multiple vantage points), but all of the photos merge into a unified vision. We just got our photos back and now are trying to narrow our photos down to 75 for the album--a tall orders since there are very few, if any, non-album-worthy photos among the hundreds they sent us! If your wedding photos are a priority for you, it's a reality that they don't come cheap in San Francisco. We did extensive research since we weren't having a videographer and photography is important to us. Marcel and Meher are among the best photographers in San Francisco, but offer packages that are a deal compared to other top-end photographers.
