They gave me the worst pedicure I have ever received in my entire life right before hosting my big monthly upscale event. If it wasn't for the sweet Spanish speaking women who work here, I would make this place go viral for the owner being such a nasty/mean spirited person. As soon as I walked in on Monday following my event, she greeted me with a disgusting attitude. I asked her if she was upset with me and she said that she was upset with how I treated her staff which is CRAZY because there were witnesses that saw how horrible my nails looked and how calm I was in expressing my frustration. I tried to show her how big my event is and how important it is was to me to be serviced properly. She said I don't care about your event do you want them re polished or no? I walked out before I things escalated. Be careful who you let do your nails. They might look horrible, thick and unprofessional like mine. Massage was a little lack luster, with her massaging the exfoliant more than the lotion, which was interesting. She never said a word until I was going to leave because now she realized who I was from one of her employees letting her know. I had been looking for a permanent nail salon since I moved back home and I found it. It's literally down the street from my house, which certainly is a perk. The staff are friendly and conversational. They have very comfy massages chairs. The always do a great job with my nails. They offer an array of services which I intend to try. I asked to change the shape of my nails and I absolutely love them. They have a rewards program that is linked to your phone number at check-in, so I don't even have to track my visits. If I could give a minus five I'd check it off gladly. After hearing from my daughter how nice her salon experience was, I called for an appointment for a pedicure and manicure and was told I could come right in. I was seated and the technician filled the basin with hot water to soak my feet in. She then proceeded to continue working on the woman left of me. After a half hour soak in now cold water, I asked if there was a less busy day of the week. By now, my technician had parked another two women to my right. I was told she would be "right with" me, I soaked for another 30 minutes in ice cold water. I managed to get out of the basin, picked up my purse and sandals, and slap-footed water all the way to the exit. There were exclamations: Are you leaving?? Just twenty minutes more!! We give good service!!! Customer satisfaction important here!! Twenty minutes!! Twenty minutes!! I take full responsibility for being the fool here; I was there for one full hour before I came to my frozen senses and left. I talked to a customer in the parking lot who had left just after me and she said she witnessed the whole scene and had seen how long I was there. I used to come here pretty often because it's near my boyfriend's house and the prices are well below market rate in St Pete. but I'll never come back again. BEWARE/TLDR: prices are cheap for a reason! stylists will ignore your wants and act out of frustration/insecurity rather than genuine care. I had a gel pedicure here a few weeks ago and really wasn't impressed; my stylist wasn't the gentlest and I left with a bunch of cuts around my cuticle area on my toes. The polish job was decent and I had a decent bit of cuticle before arriving so I figured it was just accidental and was glad to have a cheap gel hot stone pedicure ($43). I came again this past Sunday morning to get a gel manicure. I asked TWICE for this service yet my stylist continued to do a polish change despite me coming in with natural nails. It was fairly busy and I was on a schedule so I didn't correct her for a THIRD time. My stylist seemed more busy with fielding the growing people in the lobby and answering the phone than actually paying attention to my nails. I asked her not to even out my nails as they were differing lengths and I preferred them that way. She responded condescendingly saying she was making them all the same length. I literally asked for it this way?? Again, against my own better judgment, I ignored this red flag due to my schedule. When it came to polish I realized the polish had thick globs of paint, creating bumps in my nails. I pointed it out and asked her to redo them. She got frustrated and told me it was the polish I picked (a basic pink white), then because i didn't do a full service (which i asked and signed up for on the IPAD), and finally because "my nails were bumpy". She filed my nails EXCESSIVELY with an electric nail file; if my nails were bumpy, why did this not fix it? It felt like a flat excuse from someone who lacked care and patience. She ultimately redid only three out of the ten nails when almost all of them had the same bumpy and rounded texture. Basically it was my fault she couldn't do a basic gel polish change without bumps on the nail. Because she was frustrated and now rushing even more, she ran the electric nail drill over one of my fingers, breaking the skin nearly half an inch up the nail on my left ring fingers. To add to my worry of this fairly deep cut in my finger, none of the tools used on my nails were properly cleaned or even proven with evidence of any sanitization. This salon is hit or miss with whether you get a decent stylist or someone who is more concerned with getting people out of the door. My boyfriends grandmother has lived in the area for nearly forty years and has always warned me against going here for the exact same practices I listed above. The cheap prices are NOT worth it and I would go literally anywhere else in the area. read more
