We…read moredecided to hire Felipe from FDO because his quote for a complete overhaul of the interiors of the house was reasonable and he seemed very knowledgeable and personable. We knew this would be a time consuming project and wanted someone that was easy to work with and Felipe proved to be that guy. The entire inside of the home was gutted including the removal of a a wall/pantry area that allowed the kitchen to be completely opened to the rest of the house. Here is a quick summary of what was done: - Brand new kitchen with custom cabinetry - Brand new guest and master bathroom with modern fixtures - Replaced tile and carpet with hardwood floors and added baseboards - Removed a wall in our kitchen to open up the space and make it a open floor plan for the common area - Completely redid our electrical and rewired our house for surround sound and updated light fixtures and switches/outlets - Modernized the outdated and awkward fireplace - Custom built in entertainment center for the family room - Repaired and patched walls where necessary and repainted the interiors - Custom built in office closet for husband so the rest of the room adjoining room can serve as my office The list is really endless. The owner, Felipe and the FDO staff transformed the ideas I captured in my Houzz/Pinterest board into a reality. They were patient to listen to what we want in the house and worked diligently to complete the project in a reasonable time so we could move out of my in-laws and into our own home. We had a very positive experience working with FDO and would definitely hire them again for future small and large projects! Included some before and after photos that I will be posting on my blog. The photos really speak for themselves.

Avoid at all costs…read more Started off with the contractor pulling the old carpet and tile out. They didn't bother to cover anything at all when pulling the tile out. Talk about a mess. My wife and mother had to cover the cabinets since they refused to... Laminate floors went in fine. However, the transition piece that went from laminate to the carpet in the bedrooms didn't hold the carpet down. I was told because the way the direction the carpet was vacuumed. Not the fact that the existing carpet in the bedrooms were cut far too short and couldn't stay tacked. Next was the disaster of the tile in the kitchen area. The old tile was pulled up and existing mud was left down, except for the peices that come up. The contractor put their compound over the old, existing mud. NO tile is level with its neighboring tile. In fact, we have over 10 tiles that cracked and are still cracking. Paul came out and said they could fix a few of the tiles for free, but the rest would cost additional funds. I also love the fact that the floor is no longer level and the transition from the kitchen to the laminate is about 1/4 in drop. Awesome! Why would a previous tile floor withstand without cracks from 2001 - 2014? We decided to put in new tile and now that is cracking. We were told from 2 other contractors that tile was not laid right and if you do not clean up the floor you are laying tile on, problems will occur. Problems are still occuring. Paul said our house is still settling and it's not his fault. What a complete mess and now we have to go hire another contractor to install new tile properly. After over 4 calls to the store to try and get the Paul out here, he finally did. Of course, none of it was his "guys" fault. Merely blamed it on the house. I guess the two additional tile installers that I've had come out, inspected and left with the same opinion of a sub-par installation are wrong. Trust us, go somewhere else...

WWHF took the original flooring in a 1920's home we were rehabbing and made the floors the best part of the project. This new project in Tarpon Springs was much more complicated. The floors were engineered hardwood and other vendors had already claimed that the work could not be done. Along comes Will, and he assures me that there will be no problem. Because of my previous experience with Will, I hire him to do the job. In the back of my mind, I'm still wondering if I haven't just made a BIG mistake in expecting anyone to succeed in this task. I can now say that Will made a liar out of the other guys, and has a new biggest fan! If you are not calling Will Pelaez to come and take care of your hardwood flooring needs, chances are you are not getting enough value for your remodeling dollars!

The line was probably 2 ft long but I saw him pull quite a large piece of the carpet away from the wall to get to it. He worked meticulously, methodically and efficiently to pull up the carpet, remove the carpet tape, carefully trim the piece of offending carpet, lay down carpet tape, heat the tape to make it adhesive then, with extreme care, close the gap so that I couldn't tell it was ever there.
