Plastics are all wonky and when I picked it up from the second repair, they had taken it off site for a test ride. Refused to take the machine back, with very little help from Can Am. I wanted to trade for a different machine, but "we're not taking trades at this time." Fantastic, sell people garbage and don't make it right. Ordered parts for another machine, and it wasn't until I arrived to pick up the parts that they informed me that the shipping was $240. Wow, how they remain in business is beyond me. I say all of that to say, I very much enjoyed my purchasing experience. Out of 10 motorcycle purchases, this was my finest dealer experience. I never thought I would ever own a sport bike. We have been attempting to get our machine repaired since we purchased it 4 years ago. It was…read morehaving difficulty shifting into gear while running and, later, an intermittent grinding upon takeoff. The techs somehow never could "recreate the problem" while it was under warranty and admitted that the dealership changed ownership and lost all repair records in the transfer. Nevertheless, we were required to pay for a new gearbox, on a machine with barely over 1,000 miles on it, after they finally found metal chunks at our insistence that they research further when they tried to pull another "We can't recreate the issue". So, we paid and picked it up. And it STILL does not shift while running. My research suggests that the idle on my machine needs to be adjusted - that it is set too high, causing strain on the gearbox. My research also suggests that these adjustments can only be made at a dealership. There is no way for me to make those adjustments myself. So, I contacted Paulsen's yet again where I was met with disdain and was not even able to explain my theory before being rudely interrupted with, "Ma'am, are you a mechanic?" I again insisted that my machine was not operable and spoke with the owner, Dustin, the next day. Dustin refuses to take accountability, stating that it shifts like a brand new machine (even stating that he went and verified it himself) and that the machine was repaired. He has refused to accept the unit back in to rectify the problem and has not so politely referred me to Helena. As shown in the attached videos, it is obvious that my machine is inoperable. It doesn't take a mechanic to know that this is not right. Especially for a unit with a brand new transmission and such little use. Unit was taken to Helena where Paulsen's was indeed proven to be incompetent. The one-way bearing was severely over greased with a product that is not to be used on Can-Am machines, as was a friction washer that was installed without reason, and a new belt Paulsen's installed was severely caked with grease. They couldn't even re-assemble the unit properly or without damage. Helena was able to "recreate" the problem without issue, fixed the issues Paulson's caused, and completed the basic repair of performing a simple gear position relearn. And still, Dustin refuses to take responsibility.
