A big fat ZERO dollars. Let me start at the beginning... Out of the blue my partner and I found a rather interesting property that we considered bidding on at auction. Not having a solicitor, we asked around for some recommendations and got introduced to Beverly Veal who, by all accounts, was thorough when it came to property documentation and would help us through the process. The contract we handed over to Beverley, with only four days prior to the auction, was convoluted and full of not-so-common clauses. Within 24 hours Bev emailed us with a thorough review of the contract and notes about the people she had spoken to gather further information for us. She continued to update us in the days following, as more information came to hand. The communication was excellent, clear and concise and put in to terms that non-legal people like us could understand! We didn't end up buying the property, partly because Bev was able to lay out the risks associated with the particular contact. We were really impressed with her service and asked the day after the auction asked if she could send us the invoice for her work. We were told there would be no charge for this particular job. "No charge? What is this topsy turvey world I'm living in!?" I thought when I saw the email. Well it's a world where legal professionals are kind, considerate and also business savvy it seems. We promptly ordered thank you flowers and vowed that Bev and Ellinghaus would have our business forevermore!
