At some point he recommended I get someone who has access to thermal imaging to see through a spot on a wall to see if there was water damage. (Isn't that what he was there for? Obviously, I could see the spot on the wall.) I also paid extra for RADON testing, and I never heard from him on that. Otherwise, he was friendly and provided a pretty thorough report (minus what was behind the spot on the wall and what the results were for the RADON test).

The roof was covered with snow at the time and Steve said he would come back to inspect the roof when it melted without charge.

Kirk Wehmeyer from Cross Roads Home Inspection Services performed a duplex inspection for us in…read moreManhattan, MT on December 3, 2020. The property was originally built in 1948 and had been added onto through the years. Those additions turned a single-family home into the duplex that exists today. We knew there would be challenges with an inspection given changes to buildings codes and standards throughout the years. Kirk didn't seem bothered by this type of inspection scenario in the least, which gave us early confidence. I met Kirk at the residence in the morning of 12-3-20. After a brief tour of the property, I got out of his way and Kirk went to work. He spent several hours inspecting the property, taking notes, taking pictures, crawling into small spaces, turning on appliances, testing the heating systems, testing the water systems, testing the electrical systems, examining the roof, searching for the presence of moisture where it shouldn't be, looking for anything broken or unserviceable, etc. We spoke intermittently throughout the inspection process. I asked Kirk several questions about various issues he was looking for. He always provided sensible, practical and fact-based answers. Clearly, Kirk is knowledgeable and experienced in the home inspection business. He found issues which will get corrected by us or a construction professional. When he did find an issue that needed repairing or updating, he always delivered the information is a calm manner and never made me feel alarmed or unnecessarily worried. I appreciated his calm and caring demeanor. His attitude was professional, positive and direct the whole time I dealt with him. I felt reassured that Kirk found the problems or issues present in this duplex. Kirk completed his inspection in the afternoon. He answered all my questions and walked me through the property while pointing out the issues needing some level of attention. A few short days after Kirk's inspection, I received an 86-page inspection report in the mail. NICE! I've referenced this report several times since receiving it and will continue to do so as we work our way through the necessary repairs and updates. The inspection performed by Kirk was also helpful during our price negotiation for the property. We were able to agree on a lower price for the property based on the issues Kirk found during the inspection. I would use Kirk at Cross Roads Inspection Services again should I need a home inspection in the future. I will definitely recommend him to anyone needing this type of service.

It is my pleasure to write a review for AU Electric. We…read morecould not be more satisfied with the top notch work done by Tucker and his crew. Our home is 32+ years old and needed both repairs and updating. -Beginning outdoors we had a flood light w/sensors installed for safety. -The HVAC electrical components were installed for a planned AC addition. -New fixtures installed for entry way lighting. -A 30 amp outlet for when family visit with their RV was added. -New outlets installed to 2 existing outdoor outlets. Indoors the breaker box was checked and designated breakers added. -The living room fan was given a new remote so we can now choose speed and light brightness. (Remote given a permanent spot so it doesn't get lost again...) -Fire alarms added/replaced and integrated in all bedrooms and hallways upstairs and down. -Many ceiling fixtures replaced with updated lighting - 4 bedrooms, hallway, dining area, kitchen 2, stairway up and down, and several bedroom closets. -A new outlet was added in the kitchen to improve counter spacing and a new outlet added in the bathroom to allow for a bidet. -New outlets installed for a planned stacking laundry area upstairs, a 220 for the dryer and regular outlet for the washer. -The kitchen is now more efficient with a microwave over the stove rather than taking up limited countertop. It is also now vented to the outside and has its own designated outlet. Tucker is all about electrical safety. Downstairs there was a wire to nowhere which the crew removed. And an outlet that had not been stabilized when the house was built is now secured. On his first walkthrough before we had even hired him he spotted and changed out several outlets. (One was in particularly rough condition.) Every outlet in the house got changed out- and those that needed the grounding version were updated. That is the technical part but the people of AU Electric are just the best! Denise in the office is friendly and knowledgeable. She was prompt with accurate communications. Tucker really understands the electrical needs of a home. And he has the know-how to accomplish it. When I had a vague idea of what we needed he had excellent suggestions. He and his crew are task oriented accomplishing all the varied parts of the job in the estimated time frame. Knowledgeable, friendly, prompt, fairly priced,,,We are very happy with how much safer and updated our home feels.
