I have been to this salon several times to get my hair cut and each time I leave feeling completely fabulous! From the moment you walk into the salon you feel like a valued customer as all the staff are incredibly friendly. Each time I have been it has always been very busy, although I have always managed to get an appointment at the last minute which is a bonus. Getting my hair washed at Medusa is definitely my favourite aspect of the hairdressing experience. They lather your hair in the most delicious smelling shampoo and massage your head for a wee while which is so relaxing! My hairdresser was very friendly and understood exactly what it was I was after. The prices start at £32 for a ladies hair cut and blow dry which I first thought was a little bit expensive but having been and experienced the service, I found that it was very worth it. If you are getting hair dyed you can hang out on their comfy couches with coffee/tea. I have had my hair cut three times here. The first two I was quite pleased with , the last was ok- I only ever get a trim so nothing too drastic was required but somehow it wasn't a great cut. They do have a student deal and offer services of head massage , manicure/pedicure and other massages. Prices can vary depending on the service- probably the most relaxing hair wash I have ever had, but careful on offers for head massage etc as this will be added to your bill in the end and lead to a possible unpleasant suprise. Other than that, lovely atmosphere! Book in advance is advisable, although twice they have managed to fit me in when I dropped by.

The whole team are very welcoming ( I was in the salon 3 times, 1 for a free consultation another to get an olaplex and then my final appointment to get my balayage done) my Appointment was at 2.15pm and whilst the salon is open until 6pm on a Wednesday I was the last client of the day for her, they do this to ensure they can give you 100per cent of their focus, she constantly checked my colour & toner progress. I left 20 mins after closing and didn't feel hurried out the door at all! The salon is very modern and everything down to the coffee was faultless. The owner, Scott, has continued the family business which started in 1960 as a barber shop called Staynley's Hairdresser. The place is now known as Muse Hair. New clients will be asked to fill out a questionnaire which lists your likes, dislikes and general haircare routine etc. The staff in Muse are very friendly. When my hair is shampooed, they tell you what products they are using and you can also buy them here. It was here that I was recommended the Redken Blonde Glam shampoo which I now use regularly. On my recent visit (yesterday) I also saw a notice that if you check in to Muse on Facebook, you can get 10% off any retail products you buy. I usually just go for a haircut and blowdry, but I have also had highlights done here a few times, and always leave as a happy customer.

The staff are friendly and attentive, and in my experience they have taken their time to do the job properly. You can have refills of tea/coffee/soft drinks as you require them, I find the experience of getting my hair done a very enjoyable one! The salon also offers a waxing/nail bar/eyelash extension service, so it's not just hair care that is catered for.

I went to the wax bar straight afterwards because I wanted to cry at my nails. They gave me an appointment for the sat morning although I think they got me in after I showed them my nails. They were a joke. I felt sorry for them also as it's not nice having to put some one else's work right. They had no problems with this and just wanted to put them right for me. Sat morning and the service, the treatment was first class here in the wax bar. The girls were lovely and I think they were all pleased including me with the end result. They are now beautiful for a exciting and beautiful day on Monday. I could not be more thrilled with my nails. And this time I have shellac on my nails instead of nail Polish and a clear top coat that just came off with nail Polish. I am so so pleased I choose the wax bar and have to say they have gained a happy customer and I most certainly will go back. I also happened to pick up a price list of all the procedures they do so will definitely be taking some of these treatments up also. Needless to say I am walking on air now with my nails.
