I had an excellent experience at Hebrew Academy. I'd recommend it to anyone looking to learn Hebrew at any proficiency level.

Not only is there no communication to the point it can be classified as secrecy, it is insidious in its harm. Beyond tough love which is not what any parent wants for their child in a day care/ school setting. Just as a small, albeit horrible, example, my child, a toddler, went without food without any alerts or information or alternative given to the child. It is just so disgusting and heartbreaking. Another review had it spot on when it said it is a wolf in sheep's clothing. I hope other parents take heed of the warnings and the parents that do take their children there currently dig for more information. Never is secrecy and lack of information a good thing especially when it comes to children. And as previously stated, this is an insidious institution. Please please please do not take your children to this place. No child deserves to be harmed emotionally and physically.

Do yourself, your child and your family a favor and RUN away from Papillon, and specifically its…read moreowner/director Ms. Damarys. There are several other reputable schools in the area that are healthier, happier, and offer a much better education than this one. Looks ARE deceiving here. Papillon is gorgeous. It's the main selling point of the school. Sadly, it's all smoke and mirrors and the pretty exterior masks a VERY ugly interior world for kids, teachers and parents alike. Yelling/Aggressive/Hostile Environment. This is one of the biggest problems at Papillon. Ms. Damarys will YELL at a young child, bring them to tears, and then yell at them again to 'STOP CRYING!'. She bullies students, and also regularly bullies her staff. Ms. Damarys has been known to be aggressive and hostile towards teachers and parents, but this behavior is even extending to the kids. And the environment is very secretive/controlling. There is no access for parents to see what's really happening inside the school, or even communicate with the child's teacher: every call, message, reminder, concern must go through her. Dangerously Understaffed (and extremely high turnover). If you like your child's teacher, don't get too attached because they probably won't last the year, and they will spend the year with a receptionist (or similar) as their 'teacher'. Because Ms. Damarys treats her staff (and people in general) so badly, they leave.. as they should, because no one should be subjected to her regular aggression and shaming. The children are often times left without a teacher, and new 'teachers' with ZERO credentials are used to fill those spaces. NONE of the 'teachers' there are certified for montessori (the shelves are covered in montessori lessons and tools, but they are not being taught at all!) and I doubt many of them have teaching licenses of any kind. Kids in grades 3 or 4+ don't have a teacher at all, and work independently from workbooks all day. Inconsistent. Because there are no checks and balances, no administration, no systems and no consistent rules, whatever rules Ms. Damarys creates today can become invalid the next day, and there is no warning or reasoning. This creates an unstable, anxious environment. The inconsistency of the school matches exactly the inconsistency of Ms. Damarys's own personality and moods. The environment is unstable because the person running it is unstable. The kids are the ones that suffer. Disappointing. There is always a lot of overpromising and under-delivering at Papillon. Everything seems wonderful at first, and there are many promises of what's to come. You come in filled with hope. But for sure, a small percentage of the promises will ever happen. For sure, YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED. It's not if?, it's when? Strong education. Apparently it was, years ago. But parents agree that even that has been on a sharp and steady decline. Math and reading are the only subjects being taught, and even then, kids are taught to regurgitate an answer onto a worksheet, not truly understand or discuss the concepts (you could probably do this at home for free.) Papillion is in serious decline, and there are other schools cropping up that offer a much better education, without all the stress and fear. Fear. The main sense among the students is fear, the opposite of what school should feel like. Deceptive. Ms. Damarys is a master of deception or duplicity. You'll come to tour the school and meet someone and something amazing.. smart, creative, visionary, competent, caring (maybe even a temporary 'staff') but be warned that there is an extreme other side and you will for sure experience it sooner than later... but only AFTER you've already paid the non-refundable tuition for the following year!!

The principal is so nice and is actively checking classes every day to make sure the teachers are doing their job. A lot of my teachers are really nice. Plus, it has helped me a lot with my education and I've been an honor roll and a straight A student. They also hold tons of events like Hispanic heritage, spelling bees, Halloween gala, and more. It's a great school honestly I don't really see any flaws.

This is my personal experience with this school. After reading you can form your own opinion…read more I had my 13 year old in this school & currently have my 8 and 9 year old attending. They joined back in 2021. This school is ran very politically so if you aren't ready to become close friend with facility or provide them with some sort of financial incentive, prepare to feel like the odd ball. Other than that the facility is a bit, historic. Taken care of to their best ability. Sometimes things are broken and they get to them when they can. There will be stalls out of order until they can get to them. There will be instances where the ac doesn't function so well.... So now the incident that drove me withdraw my daughter. My daughter was seen with a mark on her face during class. Her teacher, Ms.Amargada I think it is, saw this and brought it up too the principal, Marisol. They both decided to call me (only Marisol spoke) and ask me if I knew anything about the mark on her face. I was confused because I was being called at 12:30 on the afternoon being asked as if I knew. I appreciate the initial concern and communication...the call continued on with Marisol asking me the same question in different forms. I simply asked they spoke with my daughter about this, which they did not. After the bright idea came into their head to ask my daughter, they called me back with her and told us both that she could call dcf. She asked my daughter if everything was going on and she assured her that everything was fine. We hung up for a second time. I gave the school a call back because I won't say it but I'm sure you can see what was being implied. I called back and let Marisol know that she had my permission to go into my 8 and 9 year olds class and ask them whatever she would like about my household , had she had any assumptions, I let her know to please ask away to my two smaller children and clear it up. To which she chose not to, stating and I quote, "I do not want to involve them". My daughter ended up clearing up what happened in the form of a text via a friends phone, about 10 minutes after the 3 phone calls. The next morning I went in and showed Marisol the message. Then I proceeded to transfer my daughter out of the school. They were clearing trying to villainize me and it was clear from the begging their tunnel vision on the matter. A call to ask about a mark or ANY concern for that matter of fact should never involve implications towards anyone about abuse, without reason to believe, it also shouldn't included a threat to call other entities. That wasn't correct of Marisol. So I peacefully withdrew my daughter. Marisol did in fact call dcf, they came to my home. I had the pleasure of explaining to them this, they spoke to my children , the same children she didn't want to involve because she knew that wouldn't have fit her narrative, then they advised me to complain about Marisol because how they put it to me, mater is a company & the customer service that I was receiving wasn't mirroring their brand values. Also the fact that Marisol's actions towards me showed to be very direct and intentional. I have no intention to do so but I do hope this helps who ever it may. You have a lot of good reviews, be mindful, to have a lot of money in your pocket and a fake smile to hand out, if not you too can find yourself in my situation.

His teacher Ms Sujata is attentive and caring, she is brilliant at observing the child and providing just the right stimulation and support. She played a crucial part in building our son's confidence, developing his social skills, emotional intelligence and broadening his knowledge. She has given us plenty of great tips on how to support our son through various challenges. She is a professional you can trust every step of the way. I really appreciate that the school has a strong value system, so kindness and respect are truly FELT in the classrooms. My son is quite sensitive, so it was precious to have peace of mind and know that he feels safe at school. Last but not least, the school administration has been very responsive and forthcoming to meet all our needs. This kind of flexibility and personal approach is impossible to find anywhere else from my experience. I highly recommend Village Montessori to parents that are looking for excellent early education. It's a classic Montessori school with high standards, the teachers and director regularly advance their education, and we could see how the management are constantly striving to improve things - teachers training, free seminars for parents, events, classroom improvements, etc. We are really grateful to Village Montessori, Ms Sujata, Joan, Mike and the team for creating such a special community and experience during the formative years of our child's life!
