After about 25 mins between entree and meal, with, I might add, my wine glass empty, they finally brought my meal of scallops. Ok so let's go there! 4 tiny scallops that were so overcooked they were like erasers, on a bed of " holy crap " liquid rice and some other stuff mixed in. I tried like a champ to eat it....couldn't do it!!! it was probably the worst thing i have ever eaten. Sadly I was so overcome by the horrible food that i did not take a photo. All throughout, i had asked for some bread, that never came. (i need to see if i was charged for it, details to come). So upon leaving, they offered me a dessert....!!!??!!! REALLY? Ok, moving on. I decided I would stop in the bar and asked if they served the same food! They claimed their bar menu was different. Im gonna try it... I ordered fries over 30 minutes ago. Still nothing! Stay tuned.....

The issues we had is that the inside pool is badly designed and very slippery. At least 4 different people almost fall or did fall. Bloody lips and damaged toes. It's so obvious the problem exist, and we don't see any attempt to remedy it. So I think the people working there are irresponsible. One of the fix could be to put new coating with sand. The drains are badly positioned. It's old style pool. Wonder who had no idea which type of tile to buy. On the same area, the inside spa was barely warm and missing many inches of water. How hard is it to have a sensor for water level and temperature? A staff was always sitting not doing anything is an adjacent room without view of the pool/spa. The outside spa, yes, available during winter, were always stopping working during peek time. We could find some instruction in the complete dark about how to try to restart, totally weird and insane. Instruction didn't really work well, and you had to touch the homemade electric panel while you are in the spa. That place really gave me the feel that someone without expertise setup the entire place. Also, the restaurant staff were less than nice about been there with kids. Strange, since the hotel seems to encourage family with kids due to the extra for kids.

Breathtaking spires and stone exterior , flags from multiple countries. As you enter the front doors, the beauty is overwhelming; gold, ornate stone, wood finishes and fragrant flowers. I could feel the history and pride around every corner and step of the staircase. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were surprised to hear a knock at the door around 8pm every evening , smiling staff offered water service and anything else you may need! Nice touch. Tip- be sure to make reservations for the iconic restaurant's. Unlikely you'll get in without a reservation. Book an early or late reservation if you want a window view.

The Chateau is an architectural gem. It is well worth your time to walk around the perimeter of this gorgeous building -- you won't be bored. The tour guide explained that the Chateau is a 5 Star hotel and everything must be perfect. Once inside, I saw chandeliers and window ledges caked with white dust. The "grand ballroom" reminded me of my high school all purpose room. We were warned not to touch anything because the grand ballroom was being prepared for an Easter Brunch. Two of the tablecloths covering the round guest tables had strange, yellow spots on them. If I return to Quebec in the future, I will stay at the Hilton which has a fabulous buffet breakfast that is reasonably priced and an equally fabulous view looking down on the Chateau and the old city.

Once getting there I was told we must leave by 7:45pm sorry but your web site and all advertising says till 8pm. And If it's 7:45 then put 5 to 7:45 on all your advertising. Anyhow besides this, the stay was enjoyable until around 7:32 when same woman started mopping there floor around us while we were trying to enjoy the hot tub inside. Walking back and forth looking at the time seeing if we were leaving. Feeling pressured to leave and not getting the full time we paid for and the stress of being rushed we left the water @ 7:40pm to shower and leave. While getting dressed not fully dressed this same ignorant woman from front desk came in to men's room without knocking or saying hello proceeded in to the change room to clean and block the sinks from being used. then She left and while I was continuing to dress she returned 1 min later again in men's changing room without notice!!! This is unacceptable and needs to be rectified! It ruined our evening and neglected any relaxation we had that day at the spa!!!

It did not disappoint. We got a room upgrade to a lovely view of the castle and it even had a balcony. The breakfast at Chez Muffy was exceptional...the first morning it was so good I deemed it the best breakfast of my life (over a 1/2 century of living too). The only minor complaint we had was that we arrived late and the bar was closed. We were a little hungry so the front desk receptionist offered us some snacks from the mini bar. We should have realized these snacks would be mini bar pricing even though he handed them to us from the reception desk. $26 of chips and pretzels showed up on the bill! Our mistake. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again though. The bed was comfortable. The shower great too. And the service was very friendly.

Wonderful restaurant (Chez Muffy) and bar (Artifact) connected to the restaurant. Breakfast was included with our booking and it was truly one of the best hotel breakfasts I've had. We had a nice room facing the St. Lawrence river. The rooms were spacious and clean with a small fridge. We traveled with an 8 month old and they set us up with a sturdy crib and even a diaper genie. The staff was friendly and courteous. What really impressed us was that they were able to lend us an AC adapter compatible with my wife's breast pump (forgot to bring) that's not even sold in Canada. This saved us a trip to Canadian Tire / Best Buy. If I ever find myself in Quebec City again, I will definitely book a room at Auberge St. Antoine.

When you arrive at the Ice Hotel they ask you if you want to make a reservation at the restaurant at the Auberge. We chose not to and instead had some apps at the Auberge bar. There are a few booths in front of the bar that were perfect - part of the bar area, but we didn't have to sit in bar stools all night. The food was good, but above all you should know that if you come to the Ice Hotel without having had dinner already this is where you will probably eat. If you know when you are going to arrive, you could call a few days ahead of time to make a reservation. We arrived at about 5pm and the only reservation left wasn't until 8:30pm. We had a cheese and meat platter for dinner that was great, plus a whole bunch of drinks! You can go really high end here and order special bottles of wine, or it can be casual like we did and have a few beers. There are one or two places that you pass on your way from to the hotel from the highway. We asked at the Ice Hotel reception and the one closest to the hotel serves only drinks and has a pool table and the one in town serves dinner. It didn't seem worth it to leave, so we didn't. We wanted to make sure to get to the Ice Hotel to enjoy it and the participate in the ice carving! This restaurant is on the bottom floors of the hotel, which seems pretty big. If you were thinking that you wanted to get married in the chapel at the Ice Hotel you could spend the night at the Auberge so you could have a normal hotel room to get ready in. If I weren't already married, I would want to do this! I almost forgot, your stay at the Ice Hotel includes breakfast at this restaurant. They have a big giant buffet breakfast a-la-Marriott-style with an omelette station and tons of other food. It was a lovely brunch and will tide you over for hours while you drive or fly home after your stay in the Ice Hotel.
