On December 13, 2011, I purchased a product from one of your associated vendors, Heavenly Treasures. This company sold me custom and personalized jewelry that requires it be ordered in advance for Christmas, which I was sure to do, however, I received a call from the company on December 15, indicating that the product was out of stock and that they would be getting more on Monday, December 19 and that it would ship to me the same day and still be here in time for Christmas. Accordingly, I assured my client that everything was fine and right on track several times this week as we have been expecting this necklace to arrive any day and as you know, Christmas is just a few days away. About 30 minutes ago I received a phone call from Heavenly Treasures stating that the necklace just came in today and that they would ship it via USPS Priority Mail which guarantees three (business) day deliveries. I explained that I have done a significant amount of shipping myself and that I was fairly certain that if that had not already shipped it this morning that it was extremely unlikely that it would arrive in Wisconsin in time for Christmas. They do offer overnight shipping but they wanted me to pay an additional $10 before they were willing to do that. I refused to pay additional money for something they knew wasn't shipping out on time but still chose not to notify me on Monday, the 19th, when they realized their shipment of the product would not get to them until Thursday, December 22, and that being the case would very likely not make it to me in time for the holiday. They also chose not to contact me every other day since then and when they did it was because there was a $4 balance I owed and they needed to know whether to bill me or would I rather pay via credit card over the telephone, otherwise I am certain they wouldn't have bothered contacting me at all. This hurts my business because I have been assuring my client that this would arrive on time just as they had assured me it would. Heavenly Treasures made several mistakes in handling this situation and I am not an unreasonable person but after all of their mistakes they expect me to pay for them. They would rather disappoint and alienate their customers than spend $10 more to make everything as it should have been in the first place. They were rude and when I asked to speak with a supervisor, the employee I was on the telephone with lied about our conversation.
At a minimum this company should have let me know the minute they found out so I COULD have done something different and perhaps replaced it via another company willing to see to it that it arrives as they promised. Now, I will take a HUGE LOSS because I refuse to pass on my mistake of doing business with Hidden Treasures to my client and his family in an effort to save myself money. That was my mistake and I will pay for it just as any reputable business concerned with customer satisfaction would handle it. I WILL NOT disappoint my client so I will go to great lengths to assure he is smiling by Christmas Eve. read more
