It was replaced with a much smaller unit than what was there and the unit hasn't worked consistently since we got it. It stops working randomly. The one time we got the guy to come out, which was shortly after he replaced it, it kicked back on and started working. Instead of figuring out the issue, he said we needed to have him come back when it stopped working again so he could figure it out. This was late spring. We have tried several times and he always says he's coming and never shows up. No call, no text, no apology ... just doesn't show. We had another company come out and they quickly told us what was wrong and told us if they touched it, it would void the warranty on our new unit. Interestingly enough, this guy drove by that day and saw the other A/C guy in our driveway which was several days after his no call, no show. Weird time to stop by, not knowing our availability or communicating that to us. We have since, reached out several times again because we have no choice to have it covered under the warranty. He continues to no call, no show after scheduling a time. So we sit around waiting on him over and over again for no reason putting off our day or any plans. My husband messaged him and told him he needs to get out here ASAP with one final message because its now nearly winter and still he hasn't fixed or replaced the unit that was sold to us!! He never responded. So here it is 4 a.m., ALMOST CHRISTMAS, and our heat isn't working either. Looks like taking them to court will be the only way we can get our unit fixed and we can provide heat or cooling for our family. Save your money and avoid being scammed!!!!

They went inside the unit and found the "side of the flimsy water tray had fallen down" They used a piece of wood found in the attic to prop the side back up. I already had the ladder set-up so the total time from arrival to problem solved was 10 minutes. For those 10 minutes, I was charged a $90 diagnostic fee, a $155 travel charge, and a $105 "miscellaneous Repair" charge. With tax, the total was $376.79. They told me they would wave the fuel surcharge of $35 on top of these costs. That seems a bit high to me. Am I being unrealistic as to what things cost these days or did I make a mistake having my HVAC unit installed by Rood?
