In our first conversation we told her about our plans, and the vibe we were looking for, and she talked about her aesthetic and sent us some of her work to look at. We had some stuff we definitely didn't want at our wedding (like a bunch of super posed group photos), and she was gracious about all of our requests. After we agreed to work together, Hope sent a really simple digital contract and payment form for us to complete. I was also really impressed with the fact that she immediately went to our venue and scoped it out so she had an idea of where to take all of our photos, and what to expect at the event. Leading up to the wedding, when we were overwhelmed with all the details, Hope sent helpful messages just checking in and asking if we had questions for her. On the day of the event she was totally available - she came to our house while we got ready, and documented some lovely intimate moments without making it weird. We had talked through a photography plan for an outdoor wedding, but of course it poured rain! So we had to get married indoors, and Hope adjusted beautifully. During the ceremony and the reception, she was always in the right place capturing the perfect moment. She captured our vibe so well with our "couples" photos. She had snacks to keep yout energy up and she was not uncomfortable helping you out to put those tricky garters on. When time came to start, she gave very good directions and quite a fee laughters were shared along the way. The best part was, I couldn't wait to see the proofs! Sophia was so fun! She also had connections to amazing make up artists. So you can feel super beautiful inside and out! Another reason I would recommend Sophia/Blush Boudoir is that her place is gorgeous with the most amazing lighting. Also, very reasonable pricing for a Boudoir shoot. Stephanie and her husband Ryan, of Ahava Studios, were the absolute first vendors I picked. If you want truly incredible wedding photographs that are not just timeless but artistic, you won't hire anyone but Stephanie at Ahava Studios! I hired Stephanie to shoot our wedding, as well as to do a boudoir shoot a few months before the wedding. I was nervous about doing the shoot in the days leading up to it, after expressing my feelings to Stephanie she seemed to know just what to say to calm me down and reassure me, of I guess myself and how I am documenting one of the most exciting times in my life. I was doing the shoot to have Stephanie create a beautiful photo book of pictures as a gift for my husband on our wedding day. She arrived to the shoot with a bottle with champagne in hand, which not only helped to relax my nerves, but it made the experience feel fancy! What girl doesn't love someone bringing her champagne!? Stephanie made me feel so comfortable during the shoot, and even sent me a couple sneak peaks of pictures that night! The photo book turned out better than I could have imagined, and my husband absolutely loves it. Then for the big day! I think that every bride in the back of their mind is somewhat worried about particular photo ops being missed. I mean there is so much going on at a wedding how can one person be in so many places at once? Stephanie somehow managed to do it, and do it beautifully. There were moments throughout the event (such as right after the ceremony) that I literately thought to myself, I didn't even see our photographer anywhere around, I really really hope that she got shots of this, or that. I honestly don't remember hardly seeing her at all throughout the day. But when we got our pictures, you would have thought she'd been my personal shadow for hours. She captured everything, plus more than we could have hoped for. From everyone getting ready, to guest arriving, the entire ceremony, the reception, us leaving the venue, plus all the family & wedding party pictures. She was like a one woman photography wonder, I really don't know how she did it all. Something that I really want to emphasis, what an artistic eye Stephanie has. She has an eye for the best angles, back drops, props to use. She took the most incredible pictures of all the details, such as our wedding rings, my wedding shoes, our toasting glasses, the cake....so unique. Something that I think turns a lot of people off to a photographer, is the price. You see this number that seems so outrageous to you for pictures, that you just go onto looking for the next photographer who's price seems more, "reasonable". My husband was one of those people. Totally turned off by the price. That is until we got our pictures. Not only were the services provided to us worth every penny that we paid, but after seeing how great everything turned out & how happy we were, we would have paid even more.
