Pacific Quest seemed different from other programs we had considered, so we were hopeful for some positive change when we send her 5 thousand miles away. After the first few weeks it was clear that the program and the clinical staff were even better than we have hoped. Their holistic approach to health, emphasizing healthy diet, sleep, exercise and time in nature, balancing meds and supplements had an immediate positive impact. The care, kindness and respect that the highly qualified clinical team showed our daughter allowed her to trust and be vulnerable in her individual therapy as well as our family sessions. She learned so much about herself, her emotions and how to manage and name them, while we learned better ways to communicate with her and within our family, and how to repair broken trust. She is now attending an alternative boarding school, and for the first time in a long time, we are optimistic for her future and our family relationships. Hawaii is a magical place, and all the staff at PQ, the therapist, the medical team and the program team, make Pacific Quest a truly magical healing place. I highly recommend it.

We connected with the program's philosophy, the expertise of the staff and, of course, the unique setting and environment. During the more than three months she was there, our daughter grew immeasurably. She developed the ability to tolerate accountability, frustration and shame. Weekly parent coaching, family therapy and the intensive program helped us do the same. We learned applicable strategies to improve communication and understanding. We were provided with valuable resources and referrals for ongoing support in our area. It's been about 8 years now and I am happy to have switched. Only problem I had was with a plastic surgeon who operated on my scalp. Other than that my PCP is great and helpful with any health problems I've faced. Nurses are very helpful and friendly also and I have good quality care in general. Kaiser has phone or FaceTime appointments also and in a pinch it's a great service to have.
