Very good news!…read more This winery has been operating irregularly the last year or so. The owners, who are friends, have been dealing with some health issues. But as I said - good news! They are both past those health issues and now open week ends again. A side benefit (if you can call it that) to their being closed is that much of the wine laid down in barrels before their health issues hit has only become better. It is now being bottled. The wedding itself was held outdoors, and the trees provided great shade in the 90 degree sun. Parking was ample. The Lodge itself was a modern facility, with a nice little kitchenette. It looked like there were two event spaces at the location but I couldn't tell for sure as the doors were closed to the other one. As a former Event Coordinator, it seemed to have all the essentials and, from their website, is moderately priced. The venue loses a star for the lack of air conditioning (though this is Washington state so maybe not fair) and for smallish bathrooms given the size of the venue and the possibility of concurrent events in the same space. Finally, an interesting tidbit about Frontier Park is that it was the location of a temporary Japanese detention center during WWII, though there is little to suggest that this is the case on the site that I could find.

Frontier Park Lodge was close to our new house, was only 75 bucks an hour, and it was a beautiful, new building. One of the staff members stayed there the whole time to make sure everything went smooth, and we really had a perfect wedding. We were able to rent both sides of the building, so that we wouldn't have any downtime between the ceremony and the reception. It worked out great and we were very impressed.

They have a big open grassy circle with a paved path around it for those who would like to skate/bike/walk, and there's a sign to tell you how many times around is a mile. They have a really big fenced off area with trees and lots of room to run for dogs! There are also gravel trails around little ponds to explore. They have done a really nice job cultivating this for the community! There is a big open grassy area behind the community center too, can't wait to see what it turns in to! My little sausage dog loved coming here to explore the trails. The only down side is that the ponds can attract some geese and all the droppings that come with them. The caretakers do a nice job of trying to keep it clean, but this kind of thing is expected. This problem can be avoided if you don't go around the pond; the rest of the park is pretty immaculate.
