Agreed with Dan on Norman…read more We only stayed here 2 months as a sublet (thank god), and during those 2 months they claimed that we ruined the walls and carpet and made us pay out of our deposit for it (even though I have photos I took after I moved out showing the contrary - everything was in the exact shape in which we got it - which was old to begin with). I would have sued these slumlords in small claims had I not moved out to the west coast after this two month stay. During our last week there, they constantly brought people at all hours of the day to look at the apartment, without advance notice. A few times Norman simply used his key and walked in. DON'T rent from Commonwealth. They are terrible, and you'll regret it. PS - The place does have mice. My dog caught one.

After Power Settlement handled the closing on my home, I received a notice that my home equity line…read moreof credit still had an outstanding balance and was past due. Despite multiple emails, and a personal visit to the office, it took a full week for Power to reach out. The initial line of credit payoff amount had been obtained by Power 25 days prior to settlement and was not reverified, resulting in late fees and interest. Charges that the bank indicated I should not be responsible for as a line of credit payoff amount should be checked within a day of settlement due to its variable nature. I was told I would hear from Power's legal department in regard to the accrued fees. The next day, the full balance--including late fees and interest--was paid from my escrow funds despite my explicit instructions to not do so. Six months after the fact, I have yet to hear from anyone in legal. Two separate emails have been sent directly to the owner of Power, and after two months, he has not bothered to acknowledge the communication much less try to resolve the issue. Based on this experience, I would highly encourage individuals to avoid Power Settlement due to their poor processes, communication, and accountability. This is not an honest, reputable company worthy of your business.

The thing is, though, that I just don't like to review things that don't impress me. However, I do feel bad for only being able to give Denise a "5". I'd usually try to put some effort into making a review interesting or funny, but I think that in this case it might detract from just how serious I am about this one. Denise is one of the hardest working people that I've ever met. When you find something that you want to look at, you can shoot her a quick text or e-mail and she'll meet you at the front door within a day or two. As a homebuyer looking for your dream home, it's easy to get starry-eyed; but Denise will keep you grounded- walking you through everything that might be questionable and any issues that you might face when looking to buy a certain property. My case was not an easy one- a VA buyer in a terrible market with a bad CAIVRS who couldn't even close until 6 months after I started working with her. When we got frustrated because everything that we liked was selling too quickly, she never pestered us; just sending us a few listings every couple of weeks with no pressure to look at anything. These weren't automated e-mails, either. She hand-picked homes that she thought we'd like. Despite being the sales manager of her own branch with (I'm sure) innumerable responsibilities, Denise treated my wife and I like we were her only clients. Anything that could have possibly held up my loan was sent to me the same day. She checked and double checked all of my paperwork to make sure that I didn't overlook anything. She got after the bank when they were dragging their feet. She took care of everything. I honestly don't know how she finds time to sleep. We're about 2 weeks out from closing on our dream home, and if we didn't have her I'm pretty sure that we wouldn't have been able to get it. She's a rock star. I'm sure that any of her other previous clients could tell you a similar story.
