Staff are super nice and helpful. Their prices seem to be lower when I compare them to similar place I order online. I buy between the 2 when one place is out of stock or carries a certain brand that the other doesn't have. If you're health/environmentally/ethically conscious, this is an excellent place. Everything from laundry detergent, to make-up or supplements, chocolate and groceries, they have everything. It is a good idea to research first if you're looking for something in particular. For example if you're a vegetarian/vegan and looking for vitamins/supplements, take a look online at the brands that they carry to make sure they suit your needs. read more

Great selection, good sale prices, however I spend way too long standing in line with 1 item behind 1 or 2 people. The staff is very helpful and informative but maybe throw on an additional cashier so the check-out time isn't so long! November 2020, I related my concerns to a sales associate about a mask less woman freely roaming the store and that of a cashier, in close proximity to the public, exposing the nostril area. My concerns were met with some disdain and it was explained the woman had a medical condition that prohibited wearing a mask for public shopping and I was also bluntly told to do curbside shopping. I tried online shopping with Healthy Planet, my probiotic was sent to west GTA and I received the item 10 days after I needed it in the east end of GTA. I find curbside pickup awkward. I now am receiving supplements from monthly amazon subscription, natural beauty products from well.ca, select Loblaws Supercenters, Longos in Boxwood, select Fortinos all carry the same supplements and often at lower prices. Apparently weeks and months later, clientele to this store are still experiencing what I experienced. As a front line health Professional, screening isnt fullproof and I'm usually protected with an N 95 mask and full PPE when there is a rare case a patient cannot wear a mask. I wish to inform the public to make a wise choice concerning this Whitby store and many other natural health stores as well. read more

Healthy Planet does not enforce safety for its customers during covid and allows customers to come in the store and shop without a mask. I witnessed two women at the Whitby location for more than a half hour chatting without masks and many of the staff noticed and did nothing. I think the owners or staff must think this is ok because when I told them in the moment and later contacted them they did not do anything or even apologize. Wearing a mask is sign of respect for people with weak immune systems and for some reason people see it as a human rights issue instead of a safety measure. Not a place where I will continue to shop. I don't really think Healthy Planet cares if they lose me as a customer (which was obvious from my communication with them), but other customers may find this helpful to know. read more

It's rare that I go online to write a review, but I was so horrified by what I saw at this place I really felt inclined to some online and say something. When I got in there the guy at the front was in the middle of berating what I assumed to be his sister (seemingly a nice young lady) with a look like he was going ready to smack her then and there. Then, as soon as he saw me, he stopped yelling and gave me a fake smile and a "pleasant greeting." I was incredibly off put by this but I was in dire need to get some supplements for my friend who has cancer. I asked him about a few specific supplements...Chaga mushrooms, indole 3 carbinol, and something else I can't recall right now. He immediately directed me to the most high priced supplements he had in those categories, and assured me that these were the best. When I looked at the prices I was horrified....even the "value brands" had terrible prices, and I was really on the fence about this guy as it was. When I asked him why the expensive brands were better he got really vague and talked about quality and manufacturing...none of it made any sense. I looked on my phone and found there was a health food store across the street from the Whitby Mall (very close to this location). There selection wasn't as extensive but they had everything I needed, were beyond pleasant, and very VERY knowledgeable. I will never return to this place. read more

Be very very careful! I came into the store with the results of my blood test along with the name of the supplement I needed. I spoke to the person in supplements who told me the name of the supplement changed but he was certain that this supplement was the exact one I needed. He seemed so certain. Fast forward three weeks later I was in emergency. I needed a supplement that increased my levels, he gave me a supplement that lowered my levels dangerously. I am still sick and it is going to take weeks if not months to get my levels back. To make matters worse I called the manager in the store to connect me with corporate office, he promised to do so, I never heard back. I then called corporate and they were going to connect me to the right person, they never did. At the very least they lost my business. There are more reputable health food stores with staff that are truly knowledgeable. read more

When this store opened, I was excited. I browsed around, found a lot of stuff I liked. I've been back a couple of times, and most recently to buy a supplement. The supplement is great, but I forgot how much it cost, so I called in to get the price so I could budget accordingly. The customer service clerk put me on hold to check the price and came back with "the cost is between $55 to $60." I asked him the size of the container (I know they carry multiple sizes) and he told me the larger of the two sizes. Never mentioned the price of the smaller size. When I asked him, OK, so what's the actual price of the stuff? Is it $55 or $60? He then told me "we don't quote prices over the phone." Which I completely don't understand. How are customers supposed to inquire about prices if they can't even call in to do so? Their website has a ton of products on it, but I couldn't find the one inquiring about. Seems strange to me. On the other hand, called Popeye's and got their prices over the phone no problem. read more
