Horrible customer service. It's so hard to just pay your bill and get reliable info electronically. Completely fails on the basics.

To Multiplan Insurance, this is in regards to a Mental Health outpatient service that you use:…read moreClearview Outpatient (Odyssey Mental Healthcare) : 200 s Los Robles suite 250, Pasadena, Ca 91101, (626) 317-8669. I wish to advise you that they have disappointed me and that I suggest that you review their operation and staff to verify if they are worth keeping them as a vendor. Note my review on Google: (Pasadena location: Horrible experience, unprofessional staff. I am now worse because of how the staff mishandled my illness. It was not a safe place to reveal my most vulnerable traumas. It seems like they used my traumas against me. Eternal shame on Clearview forever. We will be watching this review to see if it's deleted. Also to all insurance companies that use Clearview, I'm extremely re-traumatized and disappointed with Clearview staff and ask if Clearview is more of liability than an asset.)

If I could give Multiplan PPO negative numbers, it would be a Negative 100 infinity. This is a…read morescam. IT IS NOT INSURANCE. They offer "discount" service....whatever that means. I don't know why they exist. They say, "people are confused about them." Do you know why? Because they lie, cheat and steal. If it were legit, there would be no confusion. If they had scruples, they would tell you exactly what their "discount" will be. No matter how you look at it, they take your money and run. I signed up because they said I would be covered if I needed medical help. It is sold as a "discount" plan. Words like, "Up to" and "Covered" are used. You are "covered," but the coverage is extremely low...meaning 10%-12% off the total bill. You pay 88%-100% of the bill. I was told I could get one Preventative Care appointment and that it was covered. Turns out, they straight out lied to me. It was NOT free and it was barely covered. When I called before my appointment to be sure I wouldn't be charged, they said, "You are covered, don't worry." After the appointment and when I received the bill, I called and spoke to Chris, the stupervisor, and he said smugly, "You are covered, but we don't pay 100% of anything. This is a discount service. Didn't you read your pamphlet?" I said, "Yes, and I also called and was assured that I would get a preventative care appointment to get established and that I wouldn't pay anything." Chris said, "Well, the person that told you that was wrong." He was so smug and arrogant about it. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. No morals. No conscience. They are ripping people off. The discount he talked about was 12% of the total bill. I am on the hook for 88%. If I knew that, I wouldn't have gone. It was just to get established at the Dr. Office and I was told I wouldn't pay anything by two people. I already paid for this bogus middleman. The appointment cost $545. I had to pay $430.33. That is NOT coverage. It is NOT insurance. It is a middleman collecting your money. I paid Multiplan PPO $1500+ for "insurance." If I had no insurance, I would have saved $955 and just paid for the appointment. If you are at an emergency and had a $15,000 bill, they would maybe discount it...by whatever they want. You are on the hook for the rest. The staff are nice UNTIL you sign up. Classic con man move. After you sign up, they are hard to reach, they are rude, disengaged, couldn't care less and smug.

Very frustrating experience with customer service. I have been calling for the past two days to…read moreclarify a billing issue, and unfortunately I received inconsistent and confusing information from multiple agents. Each time I asked a basic question about my premium or billing, I received different answers. At one point, I was told to pay an additional amount even though my understanding was that the balance had already been paid. After being placed on hold, the answers would change, which made me question whether the representatives were properly trained on their own policies. Communication was also difficult. I specifically requested that all correspondence be sent by email only, but the request was not followed. The lack of clear explanations, empathy, and confidence from the agents made an already stressful billing situation even more frustrating. I hope this company improves agent training, communication skills, and consistency in their billing information because customers deserve accurate and reliable support. I talk to a supervisor she's covering for her incompetent agent and lied that's it's not recorded so I'm not confident about this co it's scam
