You seriously will never know this medical center is here. Its close to the train and there is a…read morelot of doctors. If you're one of those people who like multiple doctors in one location this is the place for you. The hallways are always clean. There are little rooms with certain specialities.

This review is for the Astoria office, not Elmhurst…read more The Astoria chapter used to be called "Astoria Medical Group" (same doctors, different location). Well, the name may have changed but the service is just as terrible. This clinic seems to serve those who don't speak English (Immigrant Medical Service would be a more accurate name than "Queens" or "Astoria") and treats them accordingly - like exploited illegals, they get the worst of everything. First, the average wait time is 2 hours (yes, I kid you not) so if you've ever wanted to see what it was like to live in a developing country with really bad health care, just come here. The office and equipment looks run-down, it's hard to see the same doctor twice, and the waiting area feels like the Port Authority bus station. If you speak English fluently, run like hell. I had the flu and was misdiagnosed by two doctors here (one of whom was too afraid to even touch me during the exam!) and the drugs they gave me were ineffective. I ended up having to go to an Urgent Care place in Forest Hills where the doctor were dumbfounded by the incompetence I experienced. What is worse, the doctors will even try to get you to do more tests than you wanted. Even though I was sick, the doctor immediately scheduled me for a mammogram after she saw I hadn't seen my gyn in a year. She processed my paperwork before I had a chance to say no and set up an appointment with the radiologist! It was such a scam I immediately canceled the mammogram as soon as I got home, for why should I trust any weird gyn associated with this place when you can't even treat my illness properly? STAY AWAY.

Their phone / appointment staff are some of the rudest, least helpful people I've ever heard of…read more If you can go there in person and avoid calling them, go for it (the staff in the actual location that treat/help you in person are great, luckily) - but avoid getting on the phone with them at all costs. My wife has a foot fracture and was trying to schedule a follow-up appointment for a specialist, that the CityMD Urgent Care set up for her initially. She called them today to ask if she could be given an appointment a bit closer to home for us than what they'd initially set up - and was told that there might be another option in Queens. We asked for the address of said place in Queens. Kinda important, since we're dealing with a foot fracture and can't move around super easily. At least the block or thereabouts. The lady on the phone flat out REFUSED to give us the address, despite being asked THREE TIMES "please let us know what the address of this place is, so we can see how to get there". Every time she'd avoid giving us a straight answer, almost aggressively. Somehow, someway, the person on the phone simply would not provide a geographical location/address - and doubled-down by telling my wife "if you don't make a decision now, and if you have to cancel the appointment, you'll be in trouble later". We'd completely understand if there were some rule or regulation keeping her from giving us a street address - but she never mentioned anything along those lines. She simply tried to be as unhelpful and rude as possible. Absolute sham of a service, almost malicious incompetence on display. Hope other CityMDs have better staff.

Took my daughter here. The care was good and the doctor friendly. The ladies in the front office…read moreare also the nurses, so it makes for an interesting visit. I would return....but not if I had to wait. Lobby is very small and uncomfortable.

To be honest, I was scared of writing a review because it would probably affect my…read moretreatment/service here as this is/was the doctor I go to. The first thing that I would say is that there is no reason to book more than 4 patients in one time block. I understand you want to group double book to provide extra care to patients but the fact that there is four of us within the hour waiting is absurd. Doctor offices usually have a long wait time but an hour plus is too wild. Another reason I feel really scared going here is the front guy made me feel ashamed when he asked "what is the reason for your visit"? And I said general checkup, and he asked; what else? And I had to whisper it and he made me repeat it and he repeated it louder for the whole room to hear. HIPAA doesn't exist here. I'm in absolute anger and waiting 5:30pm til 8:30pm with appointment is wild to me. On the brighter side, the medical assistant that checked my vitals was very sweet and patient. Please change how you do things around here as you aren't really respecting people's time. I feel so sorry for the elders having to wait 2+ hours to get checked. Don't over book, please be considerate of people's times!! And please don't screw me over as your patient just because I spoke my mind.

I found Dr. Ares through the free magazine El Especialito, through her weekly column which I love…read more I have been coming here for over 23 years and I love it, consistent professionalism and care. On top of that I feel with my doctor that she listens. I am not rushed out of the room like other doctors I have visited. The service is so great that I brought my daughter who is now of age to have my doctor as her primary doctor too. I really recommend this doctor she adds that human touch some lack.
