Today was one of the worst dental experiences I have ever had hands down. He seemed annoyed that I hadn't regularly visited him but this dentist is a cosmetic dentist. Upon my first interaction with this employee, I had called the office upon my Dental plan listing the referenced number to schedule appointments. Andromeda had answered and claimed the office was not accepting patients. I found this peculiar and took to their website to schedule online instead. The website asks for a plan, ID number and will let you select the nearest appointment. It appeared the office clerk had lied to not only myself but my mother when she had called to check additionally. Eventually the day before, 4/12 Andromeda had texted that the information provided was "insufficient" and when attempting to call in to correct the issue, Andromeda made every attempt to refuse the original scheduled appointment by claiming it would "take some time to verify you" instead of standard transactional practices you would expect any dentistry to undergo. Andromeda further antagonized the situation further by over-speaking, interrupting and made every attempt to refuse the information she somehow did not have. She was eventually asked to stop behaving inappropriately to which shortly thereafter she again continued with her inappropriate behavior before hanging up the phone. Upon calling back she was promptly addressed as inappropriate and a request for her manager was made. She yet again over-spoke interrupted & complained but this time it was me who hung up & promptly dialed the Odessa office Andromeda attempted to defer to. The woman at the Odessa office was wonderful and helpful and displayed a proper & considerate demeanor. She was even able to clear up that a "Linda Gail" was the manager and did not in fact work out of the Odessa office today. Later on, Linda was called in order to report the situation & report her employee's reprehensible behavior. Apparently Andromeda had penned a false narrative about the interaction while issuing a false witness over the call that had been made. Linda had been lied to & her intelligence insulted but further believed the circumstance to be true. She's allowing this reprehensible behavior to continue while she herself began to exhibit similar patterns of bizarre behavioral issues. This is the most horrific & unprofessional office for a dentistry I've ever interacted with and you'll be wise enough to call elsewhere more deserving of your dollar.

The pain continued, and when the tooth cracked in half, I was effectively denied care in what felt like an urgent situation until payment was made first. What may have been manageable with timely intervention ultimately progressed to needing an implant--leaving me with a far bigger and far more expensive problem to solve. The office manager was defensive and seemed more focused on protecting the practice than facilitating care or addressing a legitimate concern. Combined with the dentist's aloof response and delays in forwarding my records, this completely eroded my trust. Deeply disappointing experience.

My family and I have been going to Dr. Huckabay for dental care for over 15 years…read more Dr. Huckabay has performed more than 5 root canals for me over the years. All of my root canals were pretty painless because of Dr. Huckabay's expertise at performing the root canals. He also made the crowns for each tooth which had the root canals. I have one crown about 10 years old and it is still almost as good as the day Dr. Huckabay put it in. I hope Dr. Huckabay never retires. He is a true gem among dentists in his profession and my whole family appreciates his dedication to his craft. Dr. Huckabay is also a nice person and the staff in his office are always helpful and really courteous. Going to the dentist is never fun, but with a dentist like Dr. Huckabay, he makes a trip to the dentist a lot less painful.

Rather that go for the broken tooth having a root canal and crown done, I opted for an extraction and later get a partial denture for one tooth. I couldn't afford the oral surgeon fee at another place he recommended, I thought I could have him do the extraction, conscious. Well that didn't work as he couldn't get the area numbed enough to proceed, plus I started shaking like a Chihuahua and couldn't stop. But he was very patient with me through it all and said I would have to go to oral surgeon as he had tried to numb area as much as he could. A few hours later the oral surgeon's office called and I asked for price of the one tooth extracted, with consultation and procedure she quoted around $1300. So, I'll have to try and find a cheaper OS will just have to put up with broken tooth until I do. If I were younger or in better health I would prolly go to Mexico as I did that 40 yrs ago for a crown.
