We took her to an emergency vet who took X-rays and diagnosed her with IVDD (disk disease.) She was put on pain killers and we were told to keep her confined. There was no real improvement over the next couple of weeks. Her back legs were very weak. She couldn't lift her head and was just not moving very well. Our regular vet recommended acupuncture, and specifically, Dr. Massicotte. She took the time to explain to us on the phone all about the service she provides. The vet tech Tiara, saw how upset I was and hugged me while I cried! Then, Dr. Helman examined my dog and could see very quickly what the problem was. She explained the issue, laid out the treatment options, and showed me so much compassion. When I decided on which path to take, she said she would put an estimate together. The next time we went were there about 2 hours. We saw the tech for about 5 minutes. We saw the vet for about 15 minutes. The vet told us she would be right back... an hour later, we left. Never saw her again. I don't care what else is going on. Learn to communicate with the patient owner. We will never go back to AV.
