It was the most horrific experience I've ever had while just trying to get food. The bartender was unreal! She berated my fiancé and I to the point we didn't tip af all. Never done that before. She was rude and so was the other chick working there. We walked in and we were ignored for 15 minutes. She kept hanging out and kind of partying with a college aged boys but ignored us. I asked if I could get my burger rare and SHE YELLED AT ME! I was trying to be empathetic to her and said "it's hard to do this all on your own" She berated me and embarrassed me in front of the entire section. I have it recorded because I couldn't believe that this was happening. (Pics of screenshots attached) I'd love to send that to the owner. Again, the way she treated us was something I've never experienced before. Food was gross. Only one other customer there and he asked me if I wanted to go "zoom zoom" and I chuckled but found out later he was trying get me to do męth (GROSS!) All around the place grossed me out and I'll scream it to the rooftops that bartender was a nasty woman. I took a friend thier for a cocktail for helping me. Will never go back! Was not made to feel welcome. This is not how first time customers should be treated. The bartender did not even acknowledge us till we had to go up and get our drinks. My friend is a bartender. I was so we know what to expect. read more

Good pub grub, a local hang out (no one gave us tourists the skunk eye), great service, reasonable prices. I only wish it would have been a little nicer outside so we could eat outside on the patio! Actually, the beer prices were unreasonably cheap! read more

My boyfriend and I were visiting his grandfathers grave from Minneapolis, we were starving so we decided to stop by the Headwaters Grill & Bar. We were not disappointed! They were about to close their kitchen for lunch- and the chef said he could stay for our meal. The waitress was a sweetheart, very kind and helpful when it came to where we can look for flowers. This is a nice, no-fuss restaurant in Ortonville with a big menu and cheap eats! The service was minimal (but friendly), but for some reason, that felt appropriate for the restaurant. As a vegetarian, I struggle to eat out in Ortonville/BS, but this expansive menu gave me some options. I really recommend the pizza. They make it from scratch and it's definitely a winner. The menu lists a few "classic" options like veggie, Hawaiian, etc. but it also provides the opportunity to add extra ingredients for no extra charge. Awesome. I ordered the veggie (named "Garden Style") with pineapple, my favorite. You can order a large thin crust or a personal pan. I'm not a HUGE pizza fun, but I found this delicious anyway. Passing through from Minneapolis. It was lunchtime...we were hungry...and this place had the best reviews. I was cautiously optimistic, but I'm happy to report that Headwaters is a winner! Clearly a local place with attentive and friendly staff. I had a basic cheeseburger with grilled onions and mom had a Reuben. The food was very tasty and a place that I would visit again when I'm in the area. BTW...the fries are delicious! read more

For casual dining, this is the place! Our service has been adequate on all occasions. The first time our waitress was young, honest, and slightly ambivalent to our level of happiness. The second was later in the Eve, on a night a storm was blowing in. The bartender and cook were the only staff. Both concerned of our safe travel- which is part of the small town charm. Bartender/ waitress was super friendly, & took great care of us. The Buffalo wings are definitely worth ordering! We're from Buffalo, NY- home of the Buffalo Chicken Wing, and have learned in our travels to be fussy about our wings.) Lucky for us, they didn't disappoint! Pizza is good, Rib tips are good, and best burger in town so far... Like the atmosphere, the food is casual but awesome. And I'm happy there's a pool table... Just wonder if there's any night life in this new-to-us sleepy town! read more

Came in looking for a burger. Burger was good but a little more cooked than I prefer. When we came in the waitress ignored us till we got up and went over to the bar and asked about menues. Than she serviced us well enough after that. Locals who came in got approached right away. Frys were delicious. read more

This is my favorite restaurant in the area! Great food, and great prices. Service is a little slow, so don't choose this place if you don't have a lot of time. But if you are able to sit down, relax, and visit with your dinner companions, then this is the place to go! Highly recommend. Great burgers and wraps. read more
