I have played on many pitch & putt courses and this is still the best one I have played. The greens are probably the best maintained greens I have seen in Dublin. What sets this apart from other courses is that it is a real challenge. Too many courses are just flat greens with no variation. There are plenty of bunkers and then the seventh is a steep vertical challenge with a sloping green that has caused me plenty of problems over the years. Hole no 15 is a personal favourite, the shortest hole on the course and I hit a hole in one so will always remember that. They change the pin position often so it is never the same course the next time you go up there. Plenty of times I have swung wildly and sliced golf balls onto the road. It is in the middle of nowhere but one of those places you need to try if you are into pitch & putt or just an amateur like me!

One hole has the narrowest fairy in Europe, only 14 paces wide. Our caddie is also a member and knew every hole from front to back. Without him, we would still be out there trying to find our way. Perfect scoring conditions. The staff is super friendly and the restaurant upstairs is first class. The nines are all wonderful. The yellow nine (not part of the Championship Course) is fun. Shorter than the red and blue but still challenging with fescue and gorse lying in wait for offline shots. The signature 15th hole is so difficult even without wind. Beautiful, challenging, and fun. €193 gets you all 27 holes, €10 meal credit, and a yardage book. 10/10, would go broke here again. P.S. I shot a 77!

The course is beautiful to be sure- rolling hills and wetlands tied to the backdrop of palms and the sea- its really pretty remarkable. If you are not familiar with these types of courses (I was not) its easy to be fooled by the beauty because the course was tough-really tough! We had a caddy (no carts allowed) who shared a lot of great local history and stories of some of the pros that have played the course. Besides posting a score that most MLB pitchers fastballs can't reach, this was a great morning. The people were nice, the setting was amazing and the course was challenging. You get a lunch with your greens fees. For me it was a once in a lifetime type of course but walking the fairways, looking at the sea, and having a good laugh made this a very memorable course and experience.

I strongly suggest that you spring the 40 quids on a caddy as there are plenty of blind shots and over 130 pot bunkers spread throughout the course. The clubhouse is also very interesting in the way it is fitted in to the surrounding landscape. The staff are very friendly and helpful and they provide a good food and drink service in the bar. Green fees are € 20 and are well worth it. Membership is open at the moment for a very reasonable fee.
