Norma here is the best ! You can't beat the service ! Always accommodating and does the absolute best job! Truly a stylist.

There is no better place for a great haircut or style. And at half the price. They are so good that I tip more than the cost of the haircut. Try them. read more

I have been going there and see Maria and Martha for 20 years, they do a terrific job they were very friendly the place is clean and the price is just right. I highly recommend them over the much more expensive haircutting places. read more

I am a simple guy. I cut my own hair most of the time - not shaved clean, but with clippers and no guard (1/2). The only person [anywhere] who has ever done the job perfectly is Norma at Head Snip! For $8 you get a proper and even cut (she pays attention to the fact that hair grows in different directions on your head), a thorough neck shave, and a relaxing shampoo. - Also, I used to have Norma cut my hair at a #1 on the sides and a #6 on the top. She is the only person who I would let do it! read more

Friendly staff and good haircuts. We all go here now. Maria usually cuts my hair, but Norma is also very nice and treats everyone nicely. read more

I've been going to Head Snip for about 3 years now for my haircuts. Not once have I've been disappointed. I have Maria cut my hair about twice a year and she always remembers the exact haircut I want. I decided to dye my hair and made an appointment through the phone and Maria still remembered who I was and my hairstyle. She gave me an estimate on the cost for a hair dye. When I arrived to the salon I showed Maria pictures of the ombre I wanted to obtain and she made sure I was satisfied with every detail. I didn't know much about hair dyes, and she automatically knew what would look good and what would not. The end results weren't like the picture, it was even better! The colors suited me so well and she was sweet enough to style my hair as well. I received so many compliments telling me that my hair stylist knew exactly what she was doing. Definitely would recommend if you want fantastic service and results for a good price. read more

I was a walk-in and they took me immediately. I'd been looking for an inexpensive barber/stylist in the area and was happy to find out The Head Snip was reasonable... but further happy with the cut I received, which was fast, professional, and looked exceptional. For the low price well under $15 (compared to places that are zooming to $20 for a basic haircut), I was impressed with the service and attention I received and the overall quality of the haircut. I'll be coming back... they've gained a customer! read more

I went here over the weekend and had a good experience. They are very cheap ($20 bucks for a haircut and blowdry). As you can tell from the prices, this is not a fancy salon. It has a very old school barber shop feel to it. My hairdresser, Lily, was very sweet and I could tell she really wanted to do a good job. I didn't quite like my hair cut but that is my fault. I didn't really know what I wanted. As I said, it's not a fancy salon with experienced stylists that can improvise and create a great look for you. She baisically tried to do whatever I told her. I think next time I will take a picture of exactly what I want. My girlfriend got partial highlights and a haircut/blowdry. She asked for fine natural looking highlights for her brown/blonde hair. The hightlights came out GREAT and she only paid $45 TOTAL! Both of us have gone to places where $45 won't even get you a haircut and I really think she did a better job! The haircut looked great too. It wasn't exactly what my girlfriend had in mind, but again, I think this is where a picture would have really helped. My only small problem was that they use cheap sallys/drugstore type products - the shampoo/conditioner made my head itchy. The place isn't dirty or anything, but it doesn't have that superclean salon/spa aesthetic. It's very bare bones. Honestly, I probably wouldn't come here if money wasn't tight. At the same time, I get tired of paying a crap load of money at fancy salons that do the same damn thing only marginally better. I've had bad experiences at nice salons and have paid out of the ass for it. So, until I get a HUGE pay raise, I will skip the fancy pretentious salons and just pay $10 bucks for a haircut. Can't beat that! :) read more

I'm trying not to giggle at all of the people singing the praises of someone they identify as "Maria" at this shop. Maybe there *is* a stylist named Maria at The Head Snip, but if it's who I think it is - the owner - her name is MARTHA and yes, she's all of the wonderful things people are saying about her. We no longer live in the SCV, but when we were poor students there nearly 30 years ago, Martha was beyond kind to us ~ and we will never, ever, EVER forget her. This marvelous shop has been serving loyal clientele since 1981 and we have nothing but the fondest memories of dear Martha. Her beloved kitty cat Taco may be long gone, but we're thrilled to know that Martha is still there. God bless you, dear soul ~ Feliz Navidad!! (c: read more

I've been coming here on and off for years now and love the service. I usually come in for highlights and waxing. The hairdressers are really sweet and friendly. Note: they don't take check or credit. I usually end up spending around $60 a visit, which is really good. There's a salon within 100 feet of this place that charges twice that for the same service. Appointments aren't necessary unless you want a certain hairdresser; I never make an appointment and don't have to wait very long before I am taken care of. :) read more

I do not call this place barbers, more like great hair salon. I have been going to this place 10 years and love it!! Maria cuts my hair very stylish as I always request. Cut is only $12 but I gave her a big tip because she does a great job like I used to get same hair cut at expensive salon in SCV. I love this place!! read more

Maria is awesome! Yes this is not a fancy top of the line salon but I don't care, they have done a better job then most places I've been to where I've paid an arm and a leg. I was so shocked on how cheap it was $20 for a wash cut blow dry and style can't beat that. Amazing, I will definitely continue to come here. I'm even having the hubby get his hair cut here. :) thank you Maria for a wonderful experience read more

Here's my new update on my hair color, wanted to get rid of the copper and ash blonde I had to go back with a brown base with weave all around. Maria and Norma are the best they work together and give you ideas with the color. Prices are super, just call ahead of time because they've get busy. read more

Head Snip - Barbers Near Me - Newhall, California

My wife and I moved to Santa Clarita in 2012. I don't remember how we came across it but Head Snip was the first place here where I got a haircut. It is absolutely great! As others have said Maria really knows what she is doing and remembers me every time I come in even though I only go there about every 2 or 3 months. She's also very sociable which makes the time spent under the scissors more pleasant. I used to go to Supercuts which charges more and is very undependable since they have such turnover (I'm not sure if I've ever had my hair cut by the same person twice!) My wife and I are about to move about 2 hours north of here and I STILL plan on only going here on my way to SFV to see friends and family or do some business. They are that good. Thanks Maria! Oh yeah, I leave a big tip too and they fully deserve it. read more

My family has been coming here for a very long time. Mari cut my hair yesterday and I am absolutely in love with it. I told her not to touch the length and she did exactly as I asked. Ladies with long hair, YOU KNOW exactly what I'm taking about! You ask em to take off a quarter inch and they take off three inches. Mari did not do that! Love this place. read more

They have great prices- best price in any salon I have been to. On top of that, the two women who work there are friendly and nice. Plus ? you get really a good hair cut and dye. My husband uses them too. I have been to very expensive places for my hair. This place is definitely the best value I have ever found. read more

Best prices, best service! Maria and Norma are always friendly and joking. Always get awesome service and haircuts for myself and my kids, for less than most places. Sometimes they get busy so best to call ahead. read more

Head Snip ROCKS!!! Norma is AMAZING, and so are all of her hairstylists!! Granted, the place may be ready for some kind of HGTV makeover, but seriously - You can not judge a book by it's cover!!! All of these women are talented. From a simple haircut, to hair color, blow dry, manicure, pedicure to even getting waxed (no matter where). These women are as simply said as, "A class act"! read more
