We are visiting the area from Las Vegas to attend my cousin's daughter's wedding. For a beautiful…read morebarn wedding on a golf course I have a hard time believing you'd have to pay extra to have decorations put up and taken time in an EXTREMELY "untimely" manner. My daughter got married on a golf course in Las Vegas and I could not even fathom decorating the morning of the wedding and tearing down immediately afterwards. That is what this venue required unless you paid extra. Wow ... never heard of such a thing. The wedding itself was beautiful out by the pond and the happy hour was well thought out. The passed apps we're all very interesting and extremely tasty except for the shrimp which were severely overcooked. If you're a bride to be reading this, skip over the shrimp. Moving into the venue. For the reception they had two bartenders serving 100 guests and I think it went fairly smoothly except for the beginning when everybody rushed to the bar. I found it odd for the location they placed the bride and groom at. I think they should have been sitting front and center to the dance floor, but I think everything was poorly organized. When it came time for the buffet, the food choices were not appealing. Apparently the short ribs was a really good option, but I chose the fish and a potato puff with a couple of grilled brussels sprouts on the side. The fish was severely overcooked, the potato puff was bland and needed salt, and some over roasted brussels sprouts. Needless to say, I ate very little of my dinner and when I chose to stand up and put my dinner plate on a serving tray that was off to the side of our table, I was scolded by one of the servers that that was her job. I said that's great, but I just did not want this food sitting in front of me she once again said well that's my job and I said no reflection on you I just hate sitting with this food sitting in front of me. I don't think a guest should be scolded for cleaning off their table. The bride also to have a potato bar which included french fries and tater tots with toppings of your choice. The french fries were the most outstanding part of the whole meal, but I didn't quite think it was worth the money. Not sure how much they charge for that, but it wasn't something that was necessary since most people didn't even know it was there. The wedding and reception was scheduled for 5 PM to 10 PM. Buyer beware the bar closes at 9:30 and no matter what you ask they won't give you another glass of wine no matter how much you wanted to tip her. And to top it off at 9:45 the servers were already cleaning up the area and there were still a lot of people still there enjoying the wedding. After everyone of the guest left a few of us stayed behind to take down all the decorations. What is crazy show this is with everybody dressed up for a wedding having to scramble to take down decorations so they could shut the doors and we could leave. Do you think some of the servers would've helped? Not a chance. Would I recommend this establishment to a bride looking for a venue?? Absolutely not. If you want a smooth wedding that transitions from each thing to the next keep looking. PS ... they do set the tables beautifully and the barn itself might be worth choosing this location. My humble opinion ?? Choose to have a "happy 3 hour" with only their apps.

One of the people I did not know said the kid is a continuous problem. This also happened right in front of where the parents sit to watch their kids and everyone sitting there had saw it too. I was never told to write a "formal complaint" or asked if I wanted to do so. Maybe posting a sign or having employees informed of what to do when a complaint is made so that it is "formal complaint" would be a good suggestion.

Plenty of Pocono area courses either have bloated pricing or the double-whammy of bloated pricing combined with an older course that has been questionably maintained. Here, none of the above apply. IME, your best play is to go to the website and make a tee-time. The site does not accept payment in advance. Just a tee-time. $35 with no additional taxes or fees after 3pm on a weekday here is a steal. blueridgetrail.com/book-a-tee-time/ Large enough parking lot on site and then you head to the small pro shop to pay. After that, it's over to the cart area, load up and find out where you're playing. Yep, Blue Ridge consists of three nine hole courses and to manage flow, they'll send you where they feel it's best since all carts are GPS monitored, Private Eyes are indeed watching you....and everyone else too. The one small downside to this approach. The pace of play is a bit slower than what it should be. Yes, the pro shop does watch everything and yes, your cart will start showing passive-aggressive notes on the screen if you are behind in pace of play but that's highly relative since overall, you're only as good as what's in front of you and again, they pack the tee-times tight. We played Blue and Ridge which from the whites equals about 6200 yards. Overall beautiful conditions and nice greens even which are fair but tough to make any kind of putts on. Highly picturesque surroundings and next to no brown outs or shit spots on the fairways. A few of the tee boxes were a bit rough (mostly the par 3's) but nothing crazy. Door to door in about 4 hours and 45 minutes for a weekday afternoon. That's a bit slower than I like to play but it is what it is. This is also a course where you will be paired with other people if your party is less than 4. Again, they pack the tee times tight. Overall this place is very nice on it's own and compared to some of the neighboring courses in the area. No problem coming back here in the future. 4.5 rounding up.
