Haycock Riding Stables is not professional or clean. They need more barn help, but no one will work to restore the place back to a healthy environment for pennies an hour ( worked here 1 full day for less then a total of $10.00). Pulled my back out due to the deep wet stalls and paid over $100. In doctors bills. A lot of their horses are in standing stalls with soaked 12" deep packed wet sawdust on wet rubber mats with no fly spray or baking soda. I saw a broken leg and hove issues on the poor horses and the older lady who I think is the owner hitting the horses. The sawdust and floor mats were heavily soaked. Sawdust and hay were previously added ( dumped on top of old ) without cleaning or drying out the stall. Rubber mats are ruined and worthless. Stalls were a foot deep in a wet mess. I hope the owner either sells or puts out more money to hire proper care because no animal deserves to live in those conditions. @lastchancerance @humainesociety or any other animal rights organization, somebody please help these horses escape from this place. read more

Had a wonderful time today. Sky was our guide and she was awesome. She made our ride super fun. There were 4 of us and it was my husband's first time ever riding a horse and we all made it out alive :) Thank you Sky for making our experience unforgettable. read more

Haycock Riding Stables - Great family experience! - Horseback Riding Near Me - Perkasie, Pennsylvania

Haycock Stables is a large 3 barn facility, tucked away on a quiet street in Perkasie, PA. I was lucky enough to stumble upon this place when my boyfriend took me on a trail ride here for $35 a person. Our guide was friendly, informative and engaging. If you're an equestrian like me this place is heaven. There are so many horses here to ride, and the boarders who keep their horses here are SO nice, no catty, snobby barn people here. Genuine respect and horse lovers everywhere. Interested in jumping and showing? Look no further. There's a Show Team comprised of all ages and levels whether beginner or jumping 3 ft and cross country courses, great jumping lessons available as well. I love this place. I'm so glad I found Haycock. Only 1 hour away from Philly and equal distance from north Newark/NYC Joanne and staff, thank you! read more

We have been here 3 times. Two times were very good rides and we obviously returned as satisfied beginners to trail riding. Today was a very poor experience. It is a lengthy story involving a rider becoming injured after about ten minutes of the trail ride. This major disruption to the ride meant we returned to the barn. Thankfully - the injured rider was recovering. She fell off her horse and it created a major situation on the trail. We felt terrible for her. Our trail leader was fantastic- calm and focused on safety. She handled an emergency well! However, when I asked the owner for credit toward another ride or a refund given what happened the owner said No way and it's too bad. So- we won't ever go back. Live and learn. The owner is out of hand with her attitude. We still tipped our trail leader because she was fantastic. The owner tho- never again. Just never never again. There are plenty of options. Choose another farm. The horses here are amazing. read more

Went here with a GS troop for a 1 hour trail ride. My daughter and I were early and were watching the workers handle the horses. The horses were tied to a fence and just waiting for the next group of riders. One horse laid down on the ground while waiting. This older woman, whom I am assuming was an owner, came rushing over to the horse who was laying down and she was screaming at the horse to get up. The horse started getting up and by the time the woman got to the horse, the horse was fully standing. The woman grabbed the horses bridle and started slapping the horse in the face in anger. She hit the horse in the face 3 times. Just then she noticed we were watching and angrily asked us what we were doing there. Not only did we see what looks like they do not care properly for their horses, the place is disgusting. I grew up going to horse facilities because 2 family members had horses. So I know they are not "clean" by any means but this was the worst I've ever seen. Not to mention the helmets were absolutely gross and looked as if they hadn't been cleaned in years. I would never recommend this place. They don't deserve any money for the way they treat their animals. read more

I hope that this stables is closed by now, the owner is too old and unkind to the horses. They drug horses and provide terrible care for them. I bought a horse from them years ago that she claimed was an all around riding horse, but he was drugged when they showed him to me. I found out later that he was a plow horse and had never been trained to ride. Once I got him to our barn and the drugs wore off, he flipped out when he was saddled and ridden read more

I'm not a horse riding expert, so here it goes. If you are looking for a modern/updated stable this is not the one. The place is not maintained well(externally) I had no business inside the stables so I couldn't tell you. The horses seemed healthy and disciplined. We called in to reserve a spot/time but I was under the impression that it may not have mattered, no PCs or excel speed sheets here. There's no souvenir shop(didn't matter to me) or typical bathrooms to use (port-a-potty). Helmets were outside in what looked like a Rubbermaid plastic bin/closet, dusty, old, some beat up and we decided not to use. Asked to sign waiver forms, which I understand, but I don't think anyone really cared. Let's just say there were 3 people behind us and they took off because something didn't seem right to them. The people were nice, our guide was good, very talkative. Part of the trip takes place on an active street (very rural) so there is a danger factor there but once on the dirt trail it was very nice. It rained the day before so there was some mud but overall it was a good ride. There could have been better instruction from the keepers, I was getting the impression that even though we weren't experienced we were expected to just get it. For $35 a head, I think it was worth it. My 3 boys first time on a horse/ trail ride and they loved it. Would I go back? It's 50/50. I would like to experience something that is better maintained/kept. read more

Hayckock Stables is a wonderful place to ride. The trail ride by Lake Nockamixon is incredibly beautiful. Miss Joanne and her husband have been running this farm for many years. We love the horses, the guide leaders and the beautiful trail ride. 5 stars! read more

I really enjoyed my time here. Since my fiancee and I aren't expert stunt horsemen like the other review on here, it was perfect for us. She rode Duchess and I rode Blaze. Blaze was an awesome ride, he listened well when I reigned him in from roadside snacks and trotting with him was fun. Out instructor Tammy was super nice and she showed us how to sit and led us on three trots during our hour ride. We will definitely go back again and I'm going to request that I rock with Blaze. read more

Called in advance to schedule 4 teens on 1 hr horseback riding. We arrived 30 minutes early as instructed. 3 groups were scheduled at the same time including a family of 5 with 3 little kids (guessing ages 5-10), 2 inexperienced adults who scheduled private trail and my four teens. They were not ready when we arrived and chaos ensued as they rounded up 13 horses. They sent out the family of five and my teens with 1 guide and the two private trail riders with 1 guide. They returned in groups of 3-4, several without horses. My teens arrived 5-10 minutes ahead of group without an instructor. The guide called in the calvary to gather all the horses and returned them to the stable. The smallest child was left walking with the two unrelated ladies who paid extra for the private trail ride and ended up walking back together. Not sure where the guide was because she didn't return with the group, though I suspect she had to wrangle stray horse. The owner and manager minimized the disaster and said it was result of "bees" which spooked horses. However, 1 guide should have NEVER been assigned to go out with 9 people, which only had 1 experienced rider, 3 children, and 4 teens. Terribly organized and dangerous as a result. Additionally, I learned after the event that there was a problem with bees in same area over weekend. The three kids in the other family left event crying. read more

Do not go to this place. Their treatment of the animals is horrible. They put a person that was too heavy on a horse and it fell in a ditch and they could not get it out. To top things off, the lesson trainer was rude and pushy. The facility is filthy and there was no redeeming qualities. The animals stalls were wet and full of manure. I would never recommend and am not sure how the SPCA has not shut this place down yet. I would give it negative stars if I could. read more
