Once we knew…read moreour schedules didn't match up, he went out of his way to talk with some of his sub-contractors to see if they could help and also gave me some recommendations about other options I could look into. In my experience in today's society, it's rare for anyone to give ideas outside of their own business just to help a potential future customer out. He knew we wouldn't be doing business this time around yet still wanted to help without me asking for it. I view this as above and beyond my expectations.

During the bathroom reno, we had A/C installed and they needed to knock out a small wall to access our furnace. Nate was able to squeeze in the drywall repairs for us and still meet his time estimate. He gave us a very reasonable quote for the drywall, revised his initial estimate accordingly, and came in exactly on time and exactly on estimate. Nate is fabulous and you should hire him. I'm trying to think of something non-glowing to say... sometimes he can express his opinion strongly. If you're a pushover who will yield to an expert instead of pushing back to make sure it's the way _you_ want it and be unhappy later, Nate might not be the best fit. In all other ways he's fantastic!

Take a look at the rating's and decide if you want to risk your housing, peace of mind and money…read morewith this company. For starters, my family and I were subjected to the owner of the property frequently stopping by uninvited to ask questions like "How is your husband doing at work?" and generally being nosy. This happened at least a dozen times in less than a year and yes, it made me feel very uncomfortable. There were significant issues with the house that were never repaired. One shower upstairs was unusable because it would leak through the kitchen ceiling. I told the owner directly since he made it so convenient for me to talk to him. I also reported the issue directly to BCI Properties through their own client portal. The gas fireplace was supposed to have a safety barrier installed so our baby and preschoolers wouldn't 't burn their hands on it. Promised before we moved in and never happened. The dishwasher had a broken spring on the door so it would dead fall with enough force to bruise my legs several times and it took 9 months to get that fixed. The dishwasher was broken for a month and during that time the washer died too. What are the chances? Most of these issues were 1st world problems so if that isn't compelling enough I'll share the best part about this whole circus. When we moved out we expected most of our security deposit ($2,650) to be returned because we left the house in great condition and deep cleaned nearly ever surface. What we received was an invoice for around $5,000. Long story short, I took them to small claims court and won. Not only did I win but I asked to court to double the deposit BCI had fraudulently kept and got that too. BCI appealed the decision and again they lost. Interestingly, our property manager, Naomi Burke quoted RCW's to the commissioner as if she understood the laws. Clearly she didn't. . If you have the misfortune to be renting with BCI now, do yourself a favor and document everything. Take pictures before and after you move out. Take a screenshot of your repair requests on their client portal (You will be locked out as soon as your lease is over.) for your records assuming you'll be in court and need to prove their negligence. Also, texts are admissible as evidence for your case. You can win against them if you are willing to play the long game but better yet, don't do any business with them and save yourself the stress.

Now he's helped me close on another investment property a few months ago. Now the thing you need to know is for both of these properties we were looking for almost 3 years each. He stuck with us and was insanely patient until we found the best properties for our goals. Even with such long search periods, he never pressured me into purchasing a property and instead laid out the fundamentals as to why something would be a good or bad investment. He's a lot of fun to tour homes with, has a great understanding of the local market, knows a ton of people in industry, and most importantly has fantastic contacts for when you're inspecting, and ensuring you're making a good investment in your future.

We looked at some properties for a number of months, but I was wary of various things on all of them. Paul was incredibly patient, and helped me continue to look for over 6 months. The market started to balloon, and prices were surging too much for me to be comfortable, so I backed off a bit, and told Paul to keep sending me listings, but that I probably wouldn't be looking to buy unless something awesome came up. Fast forward to 2019 and that awesome something did in fact come up. He got me a tour next day -- Saturday -- and a rush inspection on Monday for an offer deadline of Tuesday. On his recommendations, I put in an offer and got the place for what I think was a steal! We beat out at least 3 other offers, too. Even through the financing process, the signing, and the follow-up, Paul continues to keep in touch and give me useful information. He is confident, smart, punctual, and incredibly good at his job. I highly, highly recommend Paul and his team. They are excellent.
