Meet the Business Owner: Lauren N.

Lauren Nickerson is the founder of Hawaii Island Tutoring.. Lauren has taught elementary, middle, and high school students at independent schools across the nation. Education was always paramount in Lauren's upbringing and she brings the same enthusiasm that she once had as a student to the services that she provides through Hawaii Island Tutoring. She believes in empowering students to achieve their personal best through engagement, humor, and a keen understanding of each student's interests and strengths. ​Lauren received her B.A. in Spanish, with a pre-med concentration, from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and her Ed.M in Mind, Brain, and Education from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. While at Harvard, she studied increasing working memory capacity in adolescents as well as easing the transition back to school for pediatric oncology patients.
