In fact they had a pretty good range, from typical cafe fair to takeaway. Actually, with regards to takeaway, the chips actually were pretty good, expecially with gravy. Yeah, this was okay, and it certainly works well if you are looking for something to eat.

There's a small selection of fresh fruit & veg and a small party section... Two must haves in my mind! The store also has a hardware section at the back, which I can only imagine comes in super handy for shackies and boaties (they're words, right?) needing to fix something vital before they get back to relaxing or causing a ruckus along the river. As a 'convenience grocer' goes, this place has a great selection. So the star rating is my opinion of it in this category. If you want a big shop though, you'll have to head outta town. But if you happen to need the Friendly Grocer, they really do live up to their name. So be sure to be your good ol' friendly self and send them some love.

Accessible via road or river, it's the perfect place to visit whilst spending your holidays along the Murray. Caudo's signature drop is their premade Sangria, you may recognise the sugar skull logo. They have both red and white on offer. We ordered a jug of the red ($18), and to be honest it kind of tasted like a spicy moscato. Not an insult, but not necessarily traditional. It's certainly sweet, and you can taste the orange notes... although that may be the hunk of orange they put with the ice in the jug. I do wish they would fill the glasses with ice and diced fruit. I think it would really bring out the flavours. You can buy 4 packs, cartons and large bottles of the Sangria to take away. A 4 pack will set you back $20. We got a pack to play with when we get home. There are other wines on offer too, as well as Barossa Valley cider and Caudo's Hogwash Bend Lager. Which was quite a refreshing crowd-pleasing lager. Very good for a hot day. Finally, there is quite a tasty little menu on offer. The local antipasto platter sounds like a delightful pairing with sangria on a summer day. The self cook BBQ plate looked amazing too! Annnndd pizza. All the deliciousness!! Overall, I highly recommend people pop into Caudo if they're in the region. The prices weren't much different than in the city. And the produce section was full of fresh, local fruit and veg. The grapes were the size of plums, I tell you!
