Looking at the $5 menu (it ends at 8pm), I can definitely see why it's a crowd favorite. The restaurant was full, the DJ was playing jams, and the menu options were pretty good. From that $5 menu, we got spinach artichoke dip, which was okay (I think it should be started with chips instead of bread??), and wings which were fire. I got the lemon pepper. They were delicious. That menu also has lemon drops, and for $1 extra, you can get it and then array of different flavors, such as mango, peach, passionfruit, strawberry, etc. I got raspberry at the servers recommendation and it was good. For entrées, my friend got the Cajun pasta, and I loved it. I would order that one again. They also got oxtail, which I didn't try. I got the red fish, and let me tell you it was gigantic! I've never had this, so I was really taking a risk. I found that I don't think I love red fish, as it didn't have the flavor profile I was expecting, however, the sauce on it really brought it to the next level. I got some to go. The greens were extremely salty unfortunately, but the cornbread was really good. I know a lot of people talk about the service and sadly, I did feel the same. It did seem that our server was gone for extended periods of time, and we did wait a while to put in another order for the $5 menu. Initially one of our lemon drops didn't come out either, and we had to ask about it. However, I will say that once we were ready to order entrees, the service did seem to get better. Our server communicated that the kitchen was working on getting out food from the 8 o'clock deadline, and that she would come back and take our order in a bit. I appreciated that communication and didn't mind waiting after. I noticed that within 30 minutes, the restaurant really cleared out, so I'm thinking that a lot of people come for that menu and then leave.. which is surprising because it's a really good looking menu and if I lived in town, I would definitely come back to try more. Great conversation, great people, nice selection. You may not find your favorite (depending on how exotic you get), but I found a few of my other smokes and spent ALL of my free-time there on my last week-long trip (and it was cheaper that 1 night at the casino! ;) ) Even though they officially close at 8pm, sometimes they will have a game on and you can 'hang out' for a while and enjoy your cigar, so you don't feel 'rushed' to get your stick and get out. I observed something here I haven't ever seen before. When folks (regulars?) come in to the shop and are planning on staying, they personally greet and shake hands with everyone in the shop. Then pick out a stick, have a seat and engage. AND, when they leave? They personally say 'goodnight' and shake hands with everyone in the shop. IT'S AMAZING! I have never felt so welcomed as an outsider, ANYWHERE in my adult life. I can't say enough about the friendly folks here, the hospitality is great. My family and I went here for my mother in laws birthday celebration. This was my first time…read morevisiting this spot and was really surprised at how well the food and drinks turned out. The speakeasy bar was decorated really nice with Christmas decorations. This created a nice cozy vibe for a date night or family fun night. The service was fast and we were seated right away.
