We were staying in Bayfield, had made the trek to the Cornucopia area to hike the trail above the sea caves, which was fantastic but tiring. I was worried that my crew would be too tired to still want to do this, but they were game. We bought some apples specific to this orchard (merlot) and they are super tasty. Also got some soap here, and enjoyed the view of the lake from the top of the barn. It was a nice easy and friendly pit stop. I'd swing by here again if I was in there area. read more

When you pull in, you're greeted with a beautiful property that includes a view of Superior in the distance. They offer cider tastings - we tried all 7! The apple pie cider was our fav and all of them are made with apples from the farm. We also found a couple unique items that we didn't see at the other orchards (such as cornbread mix). The gal running the show was friendly and knowledgeable. She made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in. Plenty of seating outside (so you can take in the view) and if you want, you can check out the overlook (which includes some stairs) and Grandpa's impressive collection of hats! I have ordered plants from Hauser's for over 20 years. It is such a great plus to get plants grown in the north so you know they will be hardy. The clumps of perennials are always larger than you usually get in a pot for a similar price. These plants are not the newest of trendy plants, they are tried and true for the backbone of any garden. By being bareroot you need to get them in the ground in a timely manner and you need to get them in the month of May so they will transplant well and not suffer from transplant shock. To some those are negatives but for the experienced gardener it is an economic choice that can't be beat. The customer service has always been top notch. I filled my gardens in the Upper Peninsula with Hauser's plants and I would recommend Hauser's to anyone , I plan to order for my new home in southern Wisconsin. read more

One of many fine apple orchards located in the Bayfield area. What makes this one unique is the huge barn that dominates and houses a weird collection of old hats and other stuff. You can stroll the orchards or take a free hay ride during apple season. A nice way to spend an hour or two. read more

We visited during Bayfield's Apple Fest and the place was packed! Hauser's does have a Superior View - in that the view itself is incredible, and it's of Lake Superior (get it?). During Apple Fest, they offer shuttles into town, pick your own apples, free hayrides, pony rides and much more. Of course, you can buy bags of apples - they offer a dozen or so varieties at reasonable prices. There are lots of samples, so you can try before you commit to one type. They offer lots of homemade goodies too, like jams, jellies, etc. However, if you come here and don't buy the apple butter and homemade caramel - well, you should be ashamed because that shiz is delicious! They also make/sell wines of the Door County fruity type with free tastings. The orchard is family run and operated, and it shows - a great stop if you are in the area. read more

Adorable winery and farm! If you can find the "fruit loop" along County J and your GPS works well enough to get you here (check out their FB page) It's a great stop to visit. Watch for the sign on the road across from a mini red barn and follow the small road maker up the road and you will come across the large beautiful red barn. There is a great gift shop with plenty to choose from with decent prices on Nellie, jams, mustards, syrups, flavored butter (umm hello pumpkin butter and cherry butter), along with their wide selection of Apple wines. Tastings are only $5 for 12 (yes I wrote 12 tastings) and you get to keep the souvenir wine glass. If you enjoy sweet wine this is the right place for you. If not it's still an adorable stop in Bayfield. Don't forget to check out the upstairs if the barn where there is a HUGE collection of baseball caps to view. It's pretty awesome! Call for hours of operation, we were pleasantly surprised it was open on a Sunday. There is another winery called Sisters Winery that I believe is close by as well (heard it's changing name to Seven Ponds in July 2016) but another stop along the way if you enjoy apple orchards and sweet apple wine. read more

I don't get how this place is pricey, unless you buy a case of wine. The samples looked tasty. They were giving away hanging plants. A very roomy orchard. It was the last one we went to so we didn't need a lot. I found a cool maple bbq sauce, put it on simek's meatballs, yum. Basil found a blueberry jam. They also had some magazines and paperbacks for the taking. I found a mystery by Kay Hooper, who is one of the most engaging authors I've ever read. Now I'm reading her stuff before my others. Just what I needed, to leave Bayfield with a new obsession. read more

Fruit wine here is a longtime fav of mine ;) try the blackberry or raspberry!! I have been coming here forever and I just love it! There is a wine tasting area, jams and apple butters and such out for sampling, cute photo opts out front, and also seasonal berry picking. One of many fruit farms, but the WINE!!! :) read more

I was speechless when I saw the gorgeous flowers that Hauser's picked special for my June wedding day!! The flowers absolutely exceeded our expectations in beauty and variety. We used the flowers to design bouquets and centerpieces. The guests were amazed at how stunning the flowers were. The flowers were jaw dropping gorgeous!! We highly recommend Hauser's!! read more

The barn and orchard was absolutely adorable, the selection of jams/butters/spreads was large and the staff was absolutely wonderful. The gentleman who poured our apple wine was knowledgeable of not only the wine but the area as well! I would recommend this as a family friendly activity. Also, don't miss out on the opportunity to try their samples. The view wasn't as spectacular as advertised and there wasn't much to do in late August, but still worth the visit. read more

Lots to do and see for all ages! Play areas for kids, free yummy food samples, wine tasting (for a fee), big picnic area and hiking trails. Eclectic collections on the top of an old Sears Roebuck barn. Friendly staff and great apple butter! Plus a great view of Lake Superior and the islands (on a clear day). read more

We stopped on a berry and apple tour outside Bayfield. The main attraction is likely the locally made syrups, mustards, jams, and the tasting of the dozen plus apple wines. Wine tasting was $5 to taste all the wines, but they were happy to pour a small tasting or two free of charge for several folks. Several were pretty good and we bought a few bottles. We never really got all the way through the wine tasting though since I started geeking out on gardening, perennials, and flowers with the guy pouring the wine. This place is a serious greenhouse and nursery with an amazing and diverse catalog of flowering perennials and unusual specimens. It was strongly suggested to us to come back in Mid/Late? May when they have their greenhouse in full swing and offer specials on bare-root perennials. I can't make it at that time of year, but I grabbed a catalog and will definitely be placing a mail order purchase this Spring of their incredible collection of rarer flowering perennials. If you like apple wine, locally made jams/mustards, or are a gardener, I would highly recommend a visit. read more
